Noticed i had no low beam light.so first checked fuses.Found number 4 fuse blown.Checked owners manual.Book says low beam and instrument lights.Replaced fuse all ok Went for a long ride fuse blown again.Replaced bulb and fuse this time.also checked altonator its fine,Took bike out again fuse blown again when i return home,Thinking its a relay problem or a shorting wire.

I love my R1150RT. It is smooth, it has a lot more lug at lower RPM than the older modles (2003 and before models with 1 spark plug). The modifications with 2 spark plugs have cured all the surging. Should you want a smooth, reliable, comfortable and high speed touring bike, I would sauggest this bike is the best.

Got to the bottom of the problem after a lot of head scratching.Removed all plastics.Unplugged headlight Still blowing fuse so its not the light. so started looking at the wires going to instruments clocks etc.found wire that had been rubbing against the headlight bracked and was earthing.Repaired it and taped it all up tidied up a few more with cable ties.panic over
