Hey check to see if you can move the drum by hand,, if you cant the the bearings on the drum have gone and it is seized ..
If you can turn it by hand then most likely it is the carbon brushes on the motor..

sounds like a simularproblem i had, a 5cent piece got caught in the drain solenoid (just between the drum and solenoid) , i had to lift up the front and spin the drain pump fan, on empty, then disassemble and clean pump assy and remove 5cent piece, hope this helps.

hello could be brushes on the motor. there are 2 black clips that sit on the motor after time these whare down just slide them out and slide new ones in good luck

two possible reasons that you dont drain pump is blocked or to much soap,

Programmes appear to be taking excessively long time to complete even with the quick wash button pressed - 2 hour 15 min for 30 Cotton wash cycle. Is this right or is there a fault? 30 Easy-care seems to be taking almost as long.

Sorry only just spotted that. The WFL2451 was never built to be sold in english speaking countries but i have found another similar model that the manual will be 99% correct for.

Well, it is that 1% that I need. In this manual there are three buttons which say "reduced ironing," rinse plus" and "quick wash." The model I have has four buttons with pictures on them and no words. I cannot tell from the pictures which one is the "quick wash" which is what I'm looking for. Thanks for your help.
