Where can I get Brother dcp-115c absorptions pads? How to fit them & reset the process?

The Support of Brother Printers informed me that 'Unable to clean - fault 46' mean that the Absorption pads need to be replaced. Can you tell me where I can purchase replacement absorption pads for the Brother DCP-115C printer & how to access them on the printer? Also, I was told that there is a reset process after replacing the pads, else the machine would not work. The cost by one of their sponsored engineers is 2.5 times the price of the 14 months old machine. ICan you please help me as the machine is useless at this point and only be used about 12 times. Thanks, R. Forde

What a con!! My dcp-115c is 18 months old and the call out charge to fix the same problem is £99 plus cost of parts - the printer cost me £40. What a rip off - why is equipment such as this designed to fail? We should be looking to extend the life of this type of machine and not just throw it away and buy a new one - although that is probably what brother and other manufacturers want. Irresponsible is what I call it. They either sting you with ridiculously expensive replacement cartridges or they build in a limited shelf life.

Printer unable to clean

the printer has a counter for the supposed amount of ink the absorber pad can absorb.

i have reset the counter using the following and now it works. In theory you need to get a replacement pad but i haven't been able to find one yet. My printer is now working fine

Unable to clean message in brother dcp-115c aio

I saw on this site codes for another MFC to clear memory and reset the cleaning unit count code to zero. It worked on two of my brother mfc 820cw units. The third mfc 5840cn had unable to print error message 46- nothing at Brother. they want you to take everything to a repair shop.they don't help at all. Then the error went to 4F when I tried toclear the memory. As Iunderstand that message- it means I have to replace the printer head. Have no clue where or what it is. But I can read a manual as well as anyone and follow directions to fix it! Can't be worse than it is now! Good luck
