Question about MTX Car Audio & Video
Previous owner said same thing happened with his other 2500 Ram and it was a later model. Playing a CD will give the same result- 6-7 seconds of sound then shuts off and shows the clock. If its turned off then turned back on (with car still running) you get another 6-7 seconds of sound before it again shuts off. We have someone on radio watch continually turning off and back on adn we then get to hear most of the song...;).

Tapping into front or rear gets high level signal 3 plus volts at low impedance which is totally unsuitable for the sub's line level input which is more like 300millivolts > A competent tech could make up an attenuator patch or just take it to a professional car installer before you do more damage

SOURCE: Model KDC-MP142/CR
It sounds like the "always hot" or battery wire is not connected to a 12V constant source. If you used a wiring harness, check and make sure that the pin in the harness that connects to the "yellow" wire coming from your Kenwood MP142 is hot with the ignition off. If you did not use a wiring harness, make sure that the yellow wire is connected to a fused 12V + constant source.
Hope this helps.

SOURCE: Hi Can you please help
i would look for a little hole about the size of a pen nib. it would be the reset button.
if that does not work then i would disconnect your cars battery and then remove your radio fuse for roughly 5-10 min ( to allow any residual currant to drain) then refit both. that should reset your radio system. It is EXTREAMLY rare for serious damage to be done to a car radio just from pushing buttons.
I hope i have managed to help you with your problem.
