Hi there coffee person.
Have you tried disconnecting the machine from the power supply. As well as that check if there are enough coffee beans in the bean in the compartment and enough fresh water in the water tank. Not only this but is the compartment with the coffee "tablets" - full or empty. Fill or empty accordingly. Connect to power again, if the machine does not work the only advice have from here is "to clean the machine" as described in the manual or as you are used to.
Good luck

SOURCE: I have a DeLonghi Prima

Maybe youare not pushing the milk-container sufficiently in. Mine has been increasinglyhard to fit. After speaking with DeLonghi service, they suggested lubricatingthe o-rings on the nozzles on the machine. I asked if cooking oil would be ok,to which they agreed. To I took a cottonstick and dipped it in ordinary cookingoil, and swept it over the inside of the two nozzles on the milk-container,since the o-rings on the machine itself were hard to get to. Now it workssmoothly. I was reluctant to try that out before speaking with DeLonghiservice, since they are so set on only using original stuff for the machine,and I did not think a machine this expensive would need this type of 'help'. Useat your own risk :-)

"GROUND TOO FINE ADJUST MILL! Insert water spout

  1. Insert steam spout and push OK.

  2. Fill your tank and add descale solution.

  3. Go to program settings - Descale.

  4. Follow the prompts on the readout.

  5. After descale and rise are complete refill your water tank.

  6. Your system should now work as normal.

Note: If you do not have a descale solution, run the above with just water. Remember to descale when you obtain a descale solution.

Our Delonghi Prima Donna always made hot coffee up until 2 weeks ago

Try first to heat the cups ,and then make the coffee.
Becouse the water for coffee and for hot water comes from the same way.

Initial set up of delonghi ESAM6700 and it will not go past insert water spout stage. Even when spout inserted it does not recognise and we cant continue setting up the machine as it simply reads insert...

OK, I can answer this one... the same thing happened to me. It would not recognize the water spout. No beep when inserted, but it would beep if you inserted the milk container. Looking into the receptacle, I saw that the switch for the milk container is offset to the right, and the switch for the water spout is offset to the left. All I had to do was carefully bend the lower tang on the water spout that activates the switch to the left a little bit. It looked perfectly straight, but was just offset to the right enough to miss the switch.

Hope this helps someone.

Hello We have a prima donna machine and

Check your programmed temperature setting; perhaps your machine has been set at low or medium.

Following are the instruction for Setting the Temperature from the manual for the ESAM6700.

Setting the Temperature

1. Press the P button to enter the menu;

2. Press the < or > until "Set Temperature" is displayed;

3. Press the OK icon;

4. Turn < or > until the required temperature (high, medium, low) is displayed;

5. Press the OK icon to confirm (or the ESC icon to cancel the operation);

6. Press the button to exit the menu.

For a hotter coffee, before delivery rinse the appliance through by pressing the Rinse icon and confirming with the OK icon. Hot water

flows out of the coffee spouts and heats the internal circuit of the machine so that the coffee delivered will be hotter.

For an even hotter coffee, heat the cups by rinsing them with the hot water.
