Check the line cable. Try inserting that line to another telephone unit. And if there's still no dial tone the problem is on the line itself. You should call your line provider.
But if the line is ok, check the LIU connectors if it is inserted correctly. It the connectors are ok, then the possible problem is on the tel. line circuit on its mainboard.
If that's the case, the problem is on the mainboard itself probably on the tel. line area of the PCB.
If you can afford to buy another unit then that will be the best solution for you. I don't know if there is an available service center on your area for your fax machine for the repair that you needed for your unit. I have checked the line cable and other telephone line found no problem. I also cannot make phone call from my fax machine. The dialling tone still can be heard even I have dial the telephone number. Would it be better to replace the fax machine ? I just use it for 1 1/2 years.

If you have the fax # correct, than it is the responsibility of the fax recipient to correct the situation. You cannot make a parametrical changes to someone elses fax machine. Thank you, Dana
A loop current problem indicates that the phone line is not connected to your fax correctly, the cord is broken or where you have plugged into the wall is dead
Its the phone line causing the problem. Check the line via the handset, if you hear static sounds you have a bad line. Contact your phone provider and have it checked/fixed.
Also check the feeding of your original by using the copy function. It is possible that you have a feeding issue but I would bet on it being the line.
