I have a satellite a215-s4747. just put in new HDD, old one died. i put recovery cd 1 of 2 that came with the laptop. just get blank screen.

you probably need to get your hdd partitioned and formatted. any computer shop can do it for you and it won't take them more than 5 minutes so don't let them charge you a fortune

How to repair satellite a215-S4807 black display?

your user profile may be corrupt. after turning on your laptop press F8. choose "last known good configuration" and see if that resolves the problem. if not, next choose "safemode". from safemode click "yes" to continue and restart the computer from the start menu. if this doesn't work, go back into safemode. click "no", and restore the computer to a early date when it was working.

Toshiba Satellite A215-S4747 DVD/CD crash?

Normally when this happens, what one should look out for is the possibility of it happening again. Like desktops peripherals such as disc drives would have connections internally. If you can have them checked out if there were loose connections. It could also be faulty internals that will break down soon such as ICs in the drive.

My Toshiba A215-S4747 Crashes every time I move it.

This sounds like the Toshiba Blacvk Screen of Death issue with early A215 models. Re-boot and hold down the F2 key to bring up the BIOS screen. If your BIOS version is less than 1.9, you must update the BIOS.Go to the Toshiba support site and search by model. If your BIOS is ver. 1.9 or later, then go to the power opetion settings and set BOTH the minimum and Maximum power to 100% for BOTH battery and AC. That will fix this about 90% of the time.
