SOURCE: hooking up dvd player

You have wires hooked properly.
On your remote, hit input button, press down arrow once to AV then press right arrow button.
Then watch a DVD.

It worked for me.

Good Luck

SOURCE: I have a proscan TV

Good day.
I believe the power supply circuit of your unit got busted. You can also try replacing the fuse. It might caused the problem.

SOURCE: Proscan PS27123 TV Problem

just to be sure, is it vertical or horizontal? Anyway, if it is vertical, it could point out to the vertical Ic section or some loose contacts along the lines. If it is horizontal, it could be a filter capacitor along the horizontal Circuitry. Mark the high voltage capacitors along the high voltage sections.

SOURCE: PROSCAN PS35130

I got an old (1995) 36" proscan without a manual, and it's been a pain to get it working. Nice enough TV once you do, though.

The weirdest thing is that S-video shows on channel 91, and the AutoProgram function won't find it. That's right; they just randomly picked 91, and you're stuck with it.

Pressing Menu on the front brings up the menu. Pressing it again cycles through choices, and the plus and minus buttons to the left of it activate the choices.

Good luck finding any more info; hope this helps

PROSCAN PS27123 TV directions how to hook up dvd player

First, I strongly urge you to purchase a short HDMI cable IF BOTH units are equipped to utilize them. Run HDMI "out" from the player and hook the other end to HDMI "in" on the TV. That will avoid all this angst you are experiencing now since HDMI carries audio and video at a high resolution.

If you must use the RCA cables, make sure they are coming out of the"out" jacks on the player and going into the "in" jack on the TV. Now, I feel strongly your problem has to do with the "input" or "source" button on the remote. You MUST have it set to DVD player. Play with it. It's imperative to, with the remote, select the proper source - which in this case is DVD player, rather than, say, cable box, computer, etc. By the way, even if you use HDMI, you'll still have to do that, and you will also still have to select the correct input (sounds maybe like you have 3). Good luck!

Trying to hookup vhs analog player to hd proscan

your toshiba player should have output composite video and audio which are color coded Yellow for video, red and white for audio same goes for proscan hdtv. connect between the two keeping in mind color of cables. If the toshiba player is really old you can connect the RF cable output to antenna input to the proscan tv and watch taped programs from the player on channel 3 of the proscan tv. If then you want to keep the hookup and still watch HDTV connect the antenna to the toshiba vcr and when you shut off the vcr you can now watch the hdtv channels as usual because now you are bypassing the antenna to the Proscan tv. Hope this Helps..

DVD in, have sound but no picture???

Hi,

Initially, a couple of ideas:
  • check the cables from the DVD to the VHS to the TV (I am assuming that the sound is likewise connected to the TV and not to a home receiver system or an amplifier);
  • I am assuming again that you are using RCA and not RF, if yes pls pay special attention to the yellow RCA on both the DVD to VHS and VHS to TV;
  • diagonal roll often indicates a loose ground or a defective cable/RCA connector;
  • verify settings/configurations in all three; DVD, VHS, TV. TV should be set to AV or Video, VHS likewise to A/V INput;
  • try playing a known good VHS tape, if normal playback, problem is between DVD and VHS, if likewise no video, problem is between VHS and TV.
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

Lost remote control

Go to your local shop of electronic parts and ask if they have a remote control for your Proscan PS27123 TV. If they haven't, ask for universal remote control (or go to another shop). Of course it's the expensive way of the problem solution, but it's worth it.

VHS side doesn't have pictures

the connection from your player to TV is only single output not separated DVD and VHS. If there is picture when used on DVD then you should be having problem with your VHS player. Question.... is your unit new? Is this the first time you encounter this problem? what is the brand of your player?
