found correct setting on vista windows support, for emachines flat screen 17". the setting is 1280x720.

Hi there,
Please check if the button is stucked or if you feel it click when you press on the menu button.
Is it a separate monitor or are you using an All in one computer?
If it's a separate monitor try to unplug it from the power source and then have the front lid opened to check if the Menu button has a problem.
is there an option to reset to defaults? if there is try pressing that button and see what happens.

Help to adjust full screen on the monitor
Hi, this depends on your operating system. Most likely your resolution settings are off, or a monitor setting is not correct. If you are in Windows, go to control panel -> appearance -> display settings -> resolution. Make sure you choose the highest resolution, for a 1080p monitor it should be "1920 x 1080".

If you are already on the highest resolution in the control panel settings, try to get into the settings of the monitor or resetting it, if you provide the model number, I can help you with this.

E19T5W monitor doesn't stay on once power button is depressed
Chances are the power supply in the monitor is going out.

Today, monitors are cheap and unless you have a 24' or better, it really doesn't pay. You may spent $100.00 and find one new for $135.00

1920x1080 resolution is the starting point for HD video. If you have set your desktop resolution to that or anything avove then you should be running at HD resolutions. Maybe the image/video you are watching is not at a HD resolution, therefore it will appear distorted and streched (poor quality). To fully experience HD playback use video files and imaged that are at the 1920x1080 resolution and above.

In order for the computer to make certain resolutions available, your monitor has to "tell" the computer which resolutions it can support.
In order to make sure this happens, you can install the driver for your monitor. If you google the brand and model of the monitor, you should be able to find it.
Once the monitor drivers are installed, the computer will make those resolutions available for you to use.
Are you sure it is an HD monitor? Does your video card support HD output?

My Gateway FPD1775W HD Display TFT LCD Monitor is showing a "FREQUENCY OUT OF RANGE" box. It shows it at start up and I can't get into the computer to fix it. How do I fix this?
You need to get another monitor & lower the resolution it is set to high or sometimes (very rarely) to low for the hd display.

22'' LCD monitor aspect ratio is off.
Set resolution to the native 1680 x 1050. Then, using the buttons on the monitor, go into the monitor's menu. go down to "Image Setting", go to "HDMI Mode", then select "PC Mode". This should help everything fit on screen correctly.
