Display won't come up on starting system

MOBO: ASUS M2N MX CPU: AMD Athlon 64 Dual core processor RAM: 1 GB Problem: When I start my system the display won’t come up, even though I am able to see the fan running and the power supply is intact and the green light on the motherboard also lights up the display won’t come up. Initially I thought there might be problem with Monitor but the monitor worked fine when I used with other system. I removed CMOS to remove any settings which I may have done but no luck either. Please help. If I require changing my MOBO which would be the best choice with reasonable price and compatible with AMD, Can I use Intel Mother Boards?

SOURCE: ASUS p5vdc-MX motherboard won't boot

The light is probably the power light which is ok, but from past experience it sounds like the board is dead for one reason or other. Is it still under warranty? If it is take it back to where you got it, with the purchase docket if you have it and talk to them about what you have tested and ask for a replacement. If it is out of warranty, try ebay or use www.staticice.com.au to search for the same motherboard if you want to rebuild the system without having to reload windows.

In my experience, there are some fans that are loud. It could be bad bushings or possibly a fan that is out of balance. The Cool and Quiet utility will not solve that problem.
Are you sure it's the CPU fan?
If the computer (or it's parts) are less than a year old, they should be under warranty.
If it's the case fan, I'd replace it with either a new single-speed fan or one that has a variable speed adjustment.

The manual for your motherboard states:

For dual-channel memory configuration (2), you may:

• install identical DIMMs in all four sockets OR

• install an identical DIMM pair in DIMM_A1 and DIMM_B1 (yellow

sockets) and another identical DIMM pair in DIMM_A2 and

DIMM_B2 (black sockets)

* Always use identical DDR2 DIMM pairs for dual-channel model. For

optimum compatibility, we recommend that you obtain memory modules
from the same vendor.
