Bush card error message

Hi bought bush fdv200 hp pocket camcorder the other day. turns on ok but you need to put sd/sdhc card in to take photos and film etc....so i put sdhc card in from old camcorder...but screen shows "card error message". I have put the sd card into laptop and saved all pics films then emptied the sd card so know its not full. any ideas?

try to clean the video head...i advise to use a blank tape and fastforward it until the time code counter display...you should on it the menu of the camera..

I recently bought a DMC-TZ3 and have been researching memory cards. Several sites sell cards with the camera and list the card type. I would suggest buying one of these cards. Any cards larger than 2gb must be SDHC type SD cards. There appear to different types of SDHC cards, 1.0, 1.1 and 2.0. Check out Wikipedia.org for a description. 2.0 cards are not compatable for devices developed prior to 2.0 so that may be the reason for the camera problem. So far I haven't seen anything that states what type SDHC card the camera requires. I found a computer memory site that that sells memory that they say will work. There may be others.

The card is probably formatted with a FAT16 filesystem. Try reformatting the card with a FAT32 filesystem.

You need to download the movie to a computer and store it in a video file. Then you should be able to use a software program to burn it to a DVD. I use a TIVO for watching and burning my videos. You don't need a computer. You save the video by recording it to the TIVO's hard drive then after it is on the drive you DUB it to an empty DVD-R disc.

u need the dv cable out from the camera , to usb going in to the computer and more than likely the drivers that will probably be needed. Also you will need a certain software program that is compatible...usually comes with the driver.

How to Upload/Put and Play JVC, Panasonic, Canon Camcorder MOD Files on Mac
Similar to TOD, MOD is a kind of recording format being used in digital tapeless camcorder like JVC, Panasonic, Canon. MOD video format is comparable to XDCAM EX, HDV and AVCHD.

MOD is used exclusively for standard definition video files, while TOD is used for high definition files. Both MOD and TOD are file-based formats that are stored on a random-access media. Directory structure and naming convention are identical except for extensions of media files. Standard definition video is stored in MPEG program stream container files with MOD extension; in most other systems these files have extension MPG or MPEG.

The following list is about JVC, Panasonic, and Canon MOD camcorders.

For Mac users, when they want to watch MOD files shot by JVC, Panasonic, Canon camcorder with iPad, iPhones, iPods, in Quicktime, in iMovie, in iTunes, or on PCs, etc. They may be annoyed that how to upload MOD files to Mac and play MOD video on Mac OS.

Now, there are tutorial and guide for you below will help you solve these problems.

1. Connect your JVC, Panansonic, or Canon camcorder to your Macs or PCs with cable USB or Wifi.
2. Turn on your camera and select the mode of camcorder like PC mode. iMovie on Mac will open automatically the Import Window.
3. You can review your video or select "Import All"and select your JVC, Panasonic, or Canon camcorder on the computer screen and click "OK."
4. All camcorder MOD videos will have the file extension "MOD" Once the backup is complete, then close the program.

Actually, you didn't. You put in a new 4GB SDHC card. The camcorder works with SD cards, not with SDHC cards. You need to use SD cards, 2GB and smaller.

The A530 works with SD cards. It will not work with higher-capacity SDHC cards. You need to use SD cards, 2GB and smaller.

Put in a 4gb SD card, camera says needs to format, I say ok, it say all pics will be lost, I say ok, and pick continue and then again it says needs to be formatted, and repeats this again and again
There are no 4GB SD cards. A card that size is actually an SDHC card. SD and SDHC cards fit the same slots, but they are slightly different. Many cameras won't work with the SDHC (high capacity) cards. SDHC is not backwards compatible.

you may try some card recovery software, recommended asoftech photo recovery that helped me before.

SD Card Not Working
Well here's a probem indeed. If you did infact buy an SD Card i believe it should work. But if you bought an SDHC, your camera might not support it. I know my camera i bought a couple years ago can not support SDHC cards. They look the same, but they transfer data much faster. Let me know if that is not the case. [email protected]

I have been rummaging around trying to find two solutions: 1) to get my Toshiba Satellite card reader to read SDHC cards and 2) to get my desktop USB ports to read SDHC cards. While MS offers a hotfix for XP, it does not always work because of the different Chip Sets in computers. I have also read where posters say that the SDHC card works in the compter NOW, but NOW will not work in the camera... and the SDHC card NOW works in the camera but will NOT work in the computer.... I found a tekkie article that may help clear the air... SDHC cards are formatted in Fat32x (NOTICE the "x") and SD cards are formatted in Fat32 (no 'x') and these compatibility problems arise when the user unwittingly or unknowingly RE-formats the SDHC card, either when it is put in the computer and won't read or when it is put in the camera and won't read... but just don't bother to mention that THAT is what they did upon inserting the card and only proceeded to complain about an apparent incompatibility. The camera or computer might even mislead you asking if you want to format the card..... but all is not lost. The Panasonic site gives a program AND a pdf instruction book on How To ReFormat an SD or SDHC card specifying the proper Fat32x or Fat32 format. Hope this helps.
