Soft keys arent working

Hi, try to perform a hard reset if that doesn't work contact the manufacturer.

What make and model phone system?

This could be because it has been dropped or something has been spilt on it? best guess is to send it to a mobile shop and ask them to replace the screen if possible?

this is the cause from your fingers or the screen being dirty ... clean the screen off with a dry tissue or a dry soft cloth make shure your fingers arent sticky or greasy and invest in a screen protector

remove the keypad and clean it if its the same even after buy a new keypad or get it repaired

Changing the time on a Norstar system must be done using a display phone. Using a M7310 or T7316 the right 2 buttons under the display are "NEXT" and "SHOW" respectively.

1.- To enter programming mode press "FEATURE" and "* * 2 6 6 3 4 4"
2.- Enter password (default = 266344) - display should read "Terminals & Sets"
3.- Press "NEXT"(bottom right arrow) 5 times - display should read "Time and Date"
4.- Press "SHOW" (top right arrow)- display should read "Hour:___"
5.- Press soft key "CHANGE"
6.- Enter hour - display should read "AM OK or Change"
7.- Select AM or PM
8.- Press "NEXT"(bottom right arrow) - display should read "Minutes:___"
9.- Press soft key "CHANGE"
10.- Enter minutes
11.- Press "NEXT"(bottom right arrow) - display should read "Year:___" 12.- Press soft key "CHANGE"
13.- Enter year
14.- Press "NEXT"(bottom right arrow) - display should read "Month:___"
15.- Press soft key "CHANGE"
16.- Enter month
17.- Press "NEXT" (bottom right arrow)- display should read "Day:___"
18.- Press soft key "CHANGE"
19.- Enter day
20.- Press "NEXT" (bottom right arrow)
21.- Press the Rls key

Programming is done on 7310, 7324 and 7316 type sets.
Enter programming by pressing the feature key followed by **266344.When prompted to enter the password enter 266344.
The screen should say TERMINALS&SETS. The 4 top line/feature keys are now used for programming.
At the terminals&sets prompt, press the show key (top right arrow).
The display should now ask for an extension number. Enter extension number you want to change the name on.
Press the show key (top right arrow)
The display should say LINE ACCESS
Press the next key (bottom right arrow) .
The display should say CAPABILITIES.
Press the next key (bottom right arrow) .
The display say Name.
press the Chng soft key.
use the dial pad to enter the name. advance using the arrow soft key to go to the next letter
ex. Bill = 2,2 -> 4,4,4 -> 5,5,5 -> 5,5,5
Press the next key (bottom right arrow) to enter the name.
Press the release key when finished

Use Soft Key Reset

REMOVE YOUR SIM CARD

Locate your soft keys on your phone, should be buttons above end and send.

Press and hold both soft keys.

Locate reset button on your phone should be on side and in center you may need to use your stylus to depress it.

Gently press the reset button while still holding the soft keys, release the reset button but continue to hold the soft keys.

In about 10 Seconds it should ask you to confirm the reset, once you do it will be set back to manufacturers settings.

If you feel confident and competent enough, try taking your phone apart and giving the internals a good clean, take the white keypad PCB out and clean both it's contacts and the contacts on the phone's mainboard, and clear out any dust. Put the phone back together and see if that's solved the problem. It could also simply be that the keypad connector has worked loose

(All the other keys worked correctly)

As I didn’t know what was causing this I attempted to move all data stored on the phone to the memorystick so I could master reset and possibly reflash, although after this I returned to the homescreen to find all keys had started functioning correctly again,

you need to do a hard reset. this will reset the phone but it will also delete all memory

!- hold the two soft key(upper right and left key on keypad under screen)
2- while holding soft keys, insert stylus rset hole next to charging port on bottom of phone.
3. you will be given option screen to clear memory
