I'm not sure what make it is but my MAG flat panel monitor has recently started to flicker every once in a while and will go black. I have to turn it off and on a few times to make it work.
The TV being off or no make no difference what so ever.
Its about two years old and I really cant afford to get a new one right now. I hate to use the clunky flat screen monitor i have as a back up since it bothers my eyes.

This is not quite clear. You say no image at home or at school but worked at the store Did you see it working at the store? Check the cord sonnector for bent pins and or replace the cord- then come back

I would be carefull with refresh rates unless you know the maximum and minum rates to apply to your monitor. I solved this problem before for someone and what i recomen is to set your normal desktop to the same resulution as your computer games. That way when you leave your games or reboot it will be the same. See what is happening is when you play your games it is a higher resultion then your normal desktop. And when you log off from it your monitor has to re adjust to the old settings. This will cause a shift. By setting them both the same you will avoid this problem all together.

Sounds like an inverter problem. If the power supply is internal replace the capacitors coming out of the voltage regulators. These are usually 1000mf and/or 470mf. If that doesn't do the trick look up the numbers on the 8-pin chips that drive the secondary transformers on the inverter to see if they are getting the right voltages.
Good Luck!

the monitor has bad backlights or circuitry. Call the company, their number should be in the owners manual. Or, look on the web for their website. Or, call the store where you bought it. The monitor must be taken to a service centre for repair.
