Could be the DVD player. Make sure there is not a disk stuck in it.

Damaged component/s at it horizontal scan output stage circuit. Check the LOT (Line Output Transformer) too for damage. Replace the horizontal scan output transistor. Check the input voltage to LOT. If the voltage is absent check the feeder resistor; if any. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Viewing it in "Mosaic" or "Magazine" will make surf easy. Most likely an issue with the power supply. Check the power supply for swollen or leaking capasitors. you can order replacement caps from www.digikey.com
Had same problem Sylvania SRT2232s 32"had to keep powering on and off until it warmed up enough to finally stay on. Problem was the 100/50 & 1/50 filter cap took it to local repair total cost to fix was 74.52 works better than ever
