Will not play SP games

The SP will not play SP games but will play older gameboy color games the longer cards. I made sure the game were good in a DS and they were fine. When trying a SP game ti just has the Logo screen with the dark blue bar at the bottom. Tried cleaning the pins whit an achool swab still no go. Any ideals? Thanks in advance for any help.

Did you clean the contacts on the game as well as the system? You may also try setting the GBA back to it's factory settings by turning it on and holding down L,R,A,B and Start

My gameboy startup screen is the startup screen for the gameboy color

That's normal. The gba will play all three generations of game boy games. The start up screen that comes up is that of whichever cartridge you are putting in.

Gameboy color screen to dark

Well technically there is no back light for gameboy colour but gameboy advance SP
has a built in light to it then. You can play gameboy color and original gameboy
games on an sp then.

I am after instructions/manual for A Nintendo Gameboy SP. model AGS-001

What questions do you have? if it what game will play onit the answer is any gameboy, gameboy color or gameboy advance games ever made that includes even the original greenscreen gaeboy games such as Tetris. Nintendo DS however will not work. Here is a link for you to download the manual.

When games are inserted into console they will not play

If you are inserting a DS card, be sure there are no foreign articles inside the slot. Blow into the DS card slot to clear any debris. Also be sure you are inserting the card all the way in until it clicks. I've also found that if you're powering on a game, and you bump, grasp or touch the ds card as the DS is powering on, that can cause it to not read games.

Check the actual DS card itself and carefully look at the exposed contacts on the circuit board. Be sure none of them are scratched, damaged or otherwise. A scratch can damage a contact, thus preventing proper data read.

If anything was spilled onto the DS card, be sure it is thoroughly cleaned with a damp cloth (no cleeaning chemicals!) If you immerse the DS card, or pour liquids on it, that may damage it as well.

Same points hold true for inserting a Gameboy Advance game (if you have a DS or a DS Lite. The DSi and DSiXL do not have Gameboy Advance slots.

If you turn on the DS and nothing happens, try a different DS Card. If it only happens with that one particular game (or games) your DS cards are damaged or need cleaning. If all your games are not playing, there is a problem with your DS. Try your games in a friend's DS just to make sure. You'll probably have to send the unit to Nintendo for repair, or take it to an authorized repair center.

System turns off when playing the gameboy sp games after about a minute or two it just shuts off like you turned the power off .It works fine when I play ds games but no matter what when you play a sp game...

I would open the DS and make sure all the wires are hooked up correctly in the bottom slot if they are then call Nintendo and ask if they could repair it.
