Electronic Display The display on our Jenn-Air Range (SVE47600B) has dimmed to where we cannot read the display. Occassionally we can just barely read it but mostlt not. I have been told I need to replace the EOC Board on my Jenn-Air range. Model SVE47600. The electronic display is so dim I cannot read it though it seems to set the temp. etc. How do I do this? I have a Jenn-Air double wall oven with a very dim display light. Replaced c3 capacitor 68uf 35w - with a 100uf 50w cost $1.60 closes size available at Radio Shack and works good as new. Requires soldering onto the circuit board. I price a replacement part for $276.00.

Make sure that you properly plugged in the keypad cable. There is the wide connector that brings all the keypad touches up to the display board, and there is the small 4-black wire connector that brings power to the control board.

I have had similar problems:
Display was the Part # 71001799 circuit board..$175+labor
Oven blower problem was control relay board, part# 12001689...$224+labor
My solution. replace with non-Jenn Air.
Check Consumer Reports. Jenn Air has high repair history.

Dim display indicates a "failing" electronic oven control. It will continue to get dimmer and dimmer until it fails completely. You need to replace the "clock" (sometimes called the ERC <---Electronic Oven Control)

This is a tricky repair. Be sure you have the power off (at the breaker box) before attempting this.

Further inspection found that the ribbon got damaged during the re-instalation of the clock board. A new front control board had to be ordered and installed.

Our 7 year old "Jenn-Air Convection Oven", Canadian Model # SVE47600 also has a very dim display. We can barely read the temperature on the oven. Does anyone know what is wrong, how to fix it, and what it may cost us?

I put a $.12 capacitor on the display board and the display came back. capacitor in position c3, part from mouser electronics, #746-uvy1v680med

You probably need a display board. Have seen dimm displays in jenn air before.

This is a common problem with Jenn-Air and Maytag that I have found. There is no way to brighten the display and usually requires the replacement of the Electronic Oven Control (EOC) board. I think this may have something to do with the placement of the board and possibly being damaged by heat from the oven over a period of time. Do you do a lot of baking? Do you use the self-clean mode for your oven a lot? These seem to be contributors to these boards failing like they do. I know of one person who has replaced the EOC 6 times on the same stove. I don't know if this is the advice you were looking for, but I hope it helps you.
