I suggest you Google search on the Internet for this model gigital camers. You will get a price comparison from different suppliers so you can get the cheapest offer.

This sounds like it might be a defective CCD imager. If so, Canon should fix this for you for free worldwide, and may also include free shipping both ways (free shipping varies with countries). This is regardless of your camera's warranty status. Please check this link for more info.

Sorry, but there's no safe or easy DIY fix for the lens problem, and any homebrew repair attempt will likely make the problem worse. I suggest that you take it to a local camera shop (NOT the camera department at a chain store) or contact the support folks via the Canon web site to arrange repairs. Be sure to get a firm price before you commit, though. The cost of the fix can approach the price of a new camera, and repairs typically only carry a 30-day warranty.

If you have extended warranty coverage send it back. There are no user serviceable parts in a digital camera. Canon has been known in the past to cover some of their repairs if they turn out to be common. They also will usually give the option to customers to buy a refurbished camera of similar value in exchange for the broken camera at price that would be below the cost of actually repairing their camera.

Digital cameras are very complex and in many ways very fragile. I don't usually recommend extended warrant coverageexcept for digital camera's, if you can get it for the right price and are buying from a store you trust, its a good idea. You have to do your own math to see if this works for you.

It is an excellent 10 MP compact camera. Still expensive when compared to similar models, but if you don't mind about the price it is a grat camera.

on board fuse probably burned. and flash probably dead now.
need to send this to canon. they have fixed price major and fixed price minor service rates. not very expensive. on the other hand, you might invest in a newer camera or an upgrade.
