I have a evo n600c but it wont work unless it is plugged. my brother sent it for me from canada and he said it should be working but it wont charge. the charge icon says it is charging but it is not. do i need a new battery or what?
The battery is dead and it won't charge or hold its charge (all rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cycles). You need to buy a new battery, or just use the laptop connected to the mains supply.

Sometimes if there is a short on the battery (a fault) then this can prevent the laptop booting up remove the battery use the slides underneath then try to boot the PC without it.
