Error code 10 XXXXXXX is related to hardware. It is default code generated by device manager when the operating system failed to determine which specific error code to return after an error occurs.
Error code 10 error pertains mainly to hardware issues and to compatibility issues between hardware and the software.
To troubleshoot the code 10, go to control panel>system> device manager and check if any of the hardware display a yellow “!” or a red “stop”.
1). Update the hardware device driver from either Microsoft or device vendor web site.
If the device is preinstalled on the computer, visit the computer manufacturer’s website.
2). Make sure the device is enabled in the computer BIOS. You need the system documentation, if you don’t know how to do it.
3). Disable any advanced feature of the device.
4). Install the most up to date service pack and any other updates.

Getting error code F3 F100 0003 on a Toshiba Satellite L650 running on a Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit operating system. This code appeared before hard disk drive was replaced and continues to appear after a...

Hi Lea,

If you're getting the F3 F100 0003 error on boot-up, the problem might lie on three things. It's either the a bad HDD, Memory, or the video adapter (which is soldered on the motherboard). Since you already replaced the HDD, the problem might lie on the other two. If you can burn a disc to run diagnostics on your computer, you can use UltimateBootCD or Hiren's Boot CD (more info on the tools here).

I've also seen some errors when you are trying to re-image the HDD using the Recovery Discs and it may have some connection to the error message that you're getting. Here's a list below:

-An error has occurred: ERROR : 10-FC10-1710" -- may be caused by a faulty hard drive.--An error has occurred. ERROR : 10-FC12-0241" -- may be caused by a faulty hard drive or defective memory.
-An error has occurred. ERROR :10-FC12-045D" -- may be caused by a faulty hard drive.
-An error has occurred. ERROR :10-FC06-0002" -- may be caused by damaged recovery media or faulty hard drive.
-An error has occurred. ERROR :10-FC12-0970" -- may be caused by defective memory.

Hope this helps. Good luck.

I have a Toshiba Satillte L505-S5971 Got something

Your original hard disk may have a recovery partition on it. You may be able to restore the Toshiba to Out of the Box condition, but it will wipe out your data so bach up your data first. For instruction to restore your Toshiba, click on this link and follow my instructions :-

Useing toshiba recovery media center to create a back up of the computer 1/4 of the way through error code: 020123-F1-00000000

Hi, I bought a new Toshiba L850 today, installed Windows 7 (64 bit) and immediately attempted to create recovery discs (on quality Imation DVDs). I got the error described above and googled this site. This error prevents you from creating recovery discs. I have contacted both Toshiba support and support for the franchise that I bought the computer at. On another site a user reported the same problem and also contacted Toshiba support - "The second technician I talked gave me 3 options: send in the computer at a shipping cost (about $25), take it to the place I bought it, or pay for recovery disks ($29.95)". I'll be taking this computer back - it looks like it's broken out of the box.

System is running extremely slow, when I tried to do a factory restore I get an error code 0xf00000005. I ran hardware diagnostics on the hard drive memory cpu and mobo, tests run extremely slow. I tried...

After using Darik's boot and nuke (DBAN) your hard drive will be wiped clean with little chance of recovery. This also depends on how many passes you used for the disk wipe. More passes = less chance of recovery.

Restore from backup
You can restore backups previously created (as stated in the Create backup
section) from hard disk, CD or DVD.
1 Boot to Windows XP.
2 Press <Alt> + <F10> to open the Acer eRecovery Management utility.
3 Enter the password to proceed. The default password is six zeros.
4 In the Acer eRecovery Management window, select Recovery actions and
click Next.
5 Select the desired restore action and follow the onscreen instructions to
complete the restore process.

Toshiba Laptop A55-S306 shuts down with error messages

It sounds to me like a virus. Boot up from a recover cd or windows cd and reinstall freashly.

If you don't have a recovery cd, contact Toshiba for one. They go around for $40 to $50. If you can't get one, buy Windows Vista and boot up from that and reinstall.

Boot problems

Okay, your going to have to give me more info:

What is the OS (XP,Vista etc.)

You could try using a recovery CD that you should have gotten with the computer. Be aware that you may have to reformat the hard drive if the OS has destabilised completly. :(

Error code 10-fc06-002 in toshiba a200 after running recovery disks

This is a toshiba error when running recovery discs on your machine. There are two reasons that this could occur, one would be corrupted Recovery Discs and the other is bad hardware (Hard Disk Drive).

Possible causes of these error conditions are listed at right. Use this list as a troubleshooting guide -- not as an absolute list of causes, as there may be others.
