I have Electric Ranges the control panel mot working . the light went out and can back on it shows f9

F9 means different things depending on the brand of your range. For example, F9 on a Whirlpool means that there may be a wiring problem while F9 on a Kenmore means trouble with the self-cleaning door latch. Google F9 and your range brand to find out what may be causing it.

F9 error

the F9 error code means that you have a problem with the door latch assembly in your range. The specific technical information on this failure in your model of Frigidaire range is shown in the image below. If you can clear the F9 by using the troubleshooting steps shown below then your range may resume normal operations. If the CLEAR key does not eliminate the F9 then you will need to try unplugging the range for 30 seconds. If the F9 returns when you plug the range back in, then you will need to replace the door latch. Here is that part to order.

To continue to troubleshoot this problem yourself, then you will need to unplug the range and check the wiring between the door latch assembly and the electronic oven control board. Remove the back panels to access these components. NOTE: Internal metal edges and the sides of the back panels can be sharp.

I was baking at 350degrees. My oven turned itself off and the error code F9-3 is flashing. please assist if abe.

Hello,

The F9-3 error code means that either of the two oven self clean latches is stuck so ya need to check and see in both ovens if their is something from obstructing the lacth

if you also get a F9-4 that would mean its just the lower oven

a F9-5 would be just the upper oven

but for the F9-3 it could be either oven

A maytag Gemini everything is working but it is flashing an F9-5 code and sometimes it throws a F9-6 any ideas on what to do????

The F9:-5 / F9:-6 error code description is Latch Unlock Lower. Check for obstruction in door lock mechanism.

Getting Error Code f9-5 and f9-6 on MER6770

This is a bad electronic clock assembly and it is very simple to repair. You can save a lot of money by making this repair yourself, too!

Maytag range fault code F92

There should be some number after the F 9 Error code. And, it would look like this
F9-1 Latch lock upper
F9-2 Latch unlock upper
F9-3 Latch lock lower
F9-5 Latch unlock lower
F9-6 Latch both lower

This is just to give you an idea. But one thing you can try is UNPLUG THE UNIT AND LEAVE IT LIKE THAT FOR AN HOUR OR TWO, AND THEN PLUG IT BACK IN.

HI. This indicates that there are serious issues that concern the operational value of the main control abord(ERC/Clock).

This will require you to replace the ERC, asap.

F9 appears on my Kenmore Range

I shut off the power to the range, and it re-set itself when I turned it back on.

Getting F9 Code & beeping

Hi. this fault code represents a door latch fault. You will need to inspect the door latch components. Once this issue is fixed, it will start to work normally. Its nothing serious like a control board or power supply board. Its juts that the door latch components are malfunctioning.

I had a power fail & when the power came back on I had the F9 error code on my range with a beep beeping that would not stop until I pressed cancel, beeping stop however F9 error code stayed on, I solved the problem by turning off the power, then turning power on again and then I pressed start button and it removed the F9 error code and all is working GREAT now...

Let me explain my situation; The whirlpool Senseon Electric Dryer with a touch panel has no power to the panel itself. The light comes on inside the dryer, but it won't start when pressing any of the touch buttons. model #GEW9868KQ2. It was previously looked at. But was told that the circuit strip is expensive. Then suddenly it fixed itself for awhile! Now, the problem is back

F9 Oven door lock failure Check wiring to door lock switch (the wire harness may be connected wrong). Check for stuck lock switch.
