Hotpoint Aquarius FDW40 Dishwasher works normally but doesn't heat the water. How do I get to the heating element?

you can plumb into hot but there are some snags
first hot water pressure is often a lot lower than cold so the machine may take a long time to fill
second if the water is too hot it will destroy the resin of the water softener and you will see brown marks on the crockery.
third it a bit uneconomical as you will use a lot of hot water

Did anyone get this sorted, mines doing the same. It stops at position 12, no power at the heater, so it stalls. I have replaced the dual thermostats, and the heater element is returning 25ohms resistance.
Its doing my head in!
