Front left speaker is louder than the right one Replaced my altec lansing speakers because left speaker was louder than right. They were about 6 years old, replaced with Logitech 2300. Same problem. If I turn down the left and turn up the right it seems alot better. But I still don't think it's right. Is it the sound card?

Well balancing is all fine and sweet for me, but my old set of Logitech speakers have the same problem. It the speakers themselves witch are messed. The volume knob is faulty. If I press on it (not turning it! is not meant to be pressed but it does fix it) the balance at low volumes corrects itself.

JUST ADJUST THE BALANCE IN THE VOLUME CONTROL, YOU CAN FIND IT IN THE CONTROL PANEL OR AN ICON AT THE BOTTOM RIGHT OF YOUR SCREEN, THE RIGHT NEXT TO THE CLOCK.. PLEASE VOTE FOR MY POST

No sound from one speaker. It's a new Altec Lansing VS2621 2.1 Channel Speaker System

Altec Lansing used to be good, but not any more. I had one that buzzed even when switched off. As it was in my bedroom, I put it all back in the box like new and gave it to a Christmas present drive for underprivileged children.

The speaker with the controls goes on the right. Here is the installation manual

Windows should find the driver, but here

How to open left speaker

If you remove the front fabric cover by levering it off using a flat head screw driver, it will reveal the screws to open the speaker up. This is the same for both the left and right speakers.2_6_2016_3_29_16_pm.jpg2_6_2016_3_29_17_pm.jpg

My philips dvd player 5.1 have female ports at back side for audio but i have the sound system of LG which has simple naked wire to connect .

Philips DVP 3256 has 6 outputs which takes in RCA connectors
Altec lansing VS3251 has 3 STEREO outputs.
Buy 3 nos of STEREO (female) to RCA (male) cables
1. Connect the Altec's green wire to first stereo-to-RCA cable. RCA ends to DVP 3256's Front left and Front right
2. Connect the Altec's black wire to second stereo-to-RCA cable. RCA ends to DVP 3256's Rear left and Rear right
3. Connect the Altec's orange wire to third stereo-to-RCA cable. RCA ends to DVP 3256's Centre/Sub woofer. Interchange RCA ends if the Subwoofer sounds dull.

Good Luck
