Cpu overheats overheats and fan runs fast and loud. Program Speccy says it is 60 degrees Centigrade.

Something is very wrong here. Does this occur when running on internal battery or only when plugged into the power adapter? At these temperatures the cooling fan should be running at full speed constantly until the temperatures fall to about 50 centigrade or lower. (dependant upon loading and CPU power consumption.) The laptop should automatically power down at the temperatures you are quoting!

A really loud fan can be one of two things - neither is very good to have for very long. Most newer motherboards support multi-speed fan operation based on CPU temperature. This keeps fan noise at a minimum because the fan only has to run fast (and loud) if the CPU exceeds a specific threshold temperature. The loud noise could also be from a fan that is starting to fail and is binding, thus running slower than normal. Either of these conditions is indicative of a problem that kills PCs - heat. Open the case and carefully examine the heat sink fins and the fan on the CPU. If they are caked with dust (especially the fins), then the CPU will likely overheat and shut down. Get some canned air designed for cleaning electronic components and blow the dust from the fins and the fan. Restart your system a see if the fan runs slower and quieter now, Machines that are in dusty environments, around smokers, or placed on the floor are especially prone to dirt buildup. Periodic cleaning with the canned air is the way to keep your PC happy and healthy.

THIS IS OK NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT

Overheating When the CPU overheats then it will shut down (i.e. thermal overload) and won't boot up again until it has cooled down. If this is the problem is not fixed then the CPU will eventually fail.
A faulty fan causes the problem or the fan and heat sink assembly are clogged with dust.
Check the CPU fan to see if it spins freely, if not replace the fan.
If the fan and heat sink is clogged with dust the remove the dust and make sure the vents are clear and dust free. Use a small brush and can of compressed air to do this.

TRY TO REPLACE YOUR PROCESSOR WITH A NEW ONE OF THE SAME SPECIFICATIONS. IF THAT DOES NOT SOLVE IT, THEN TRY USING A PROESSOR LOWER THAN THAT WHICH U REMOVE.
HOWEVER, CHECK TO SEE THAT YOUR CPU FAN IS WORKING FINE.

Sounds like you are overheating. One way to tell if it's overheating is you say it will run for about 30 minutes then shuts down. When it shuts down try rebooting to see if the boots successfully. If it fails to boot successfully right after it shut down then you are probably overheating. If you wait awhile to let it cool down for 30 minutes or so and if you reboot and it does it successfully you definitely have a overheating problem. If I remember correctly all those compaq sr series have loud and fast running fans. Computers overheat because of three reasons for the most part: 1) A fan has stopped working. 2) The Thermal Paste on the CPU and Heat Sink has dried up or is not thick enough to keep the unit cool. 3) Dust has clogged the fan vents and inside the computer. Fortunately for you desktops don't have to be completely disassembled like laptops to get to the fan, CPU and heatsink. Just pop the case and you'll see the components attached to the motherboard

Are you sure the temperatures are ok? When I run DIVX Plus Converter on the Z5610 the CPU (intel Q8200) is running (naturally) at a high load. Speed Fan 4.42 shows rising temperatures going north of 90 degrees C. If only DIVX Converter runs the temperatures of the CPU cores is around 92 to 94 degrees C. But if I start browsing the internet the temperatures go close to 100 degrees C. When one of the cores reaches 100 degrees C Speed Fan shows MINUS temperatures on the cores (-10 to - 20 deg C). Speed Fan is just monitoring as it can not even detect the Fan.
When that happens the Fan stops completely!! And short after that the computer switches of (same as if you would pull the plug).
Obviously there is a bug in the BIOS or the Motherboard which leads to interpretion of temperatures above 100 degrees C as MINUS temperatures which leads to the stop of the fan.
I am sure that also happens whenever you use a CPU intensive program (like a game or any other video converter/rendering program). You might download a temerature monitoring program (i.e. Speed Fan - its free) and see for yourself. Also listen whether the fan stops working compltely (goes completely silent) when the PC overheats and short before it switches off. Let's see what ACER says to that.
I used to like ACER. But first Aspire 4310 tripping frequently because the VGA chip overheats and now that stupid fault ==> never ever ACER again. I will use the Z5610 for internet surfing and get a real all-in-one which you can use. That is a clear sign for me that ACER does not test their machines at all under full load - or knowingly sells faulty machines.

Ok so you get a blue screen of death, this means that you PC is running far too hot. It needs to be cleaned of dust, so that the fans cooling your computer components can effieciently do their job.
Click here to download a hardware monitor program. CPU temps should be no higher than 50 degrees centigrade. Remember the cooler your PC runs, the longer it's going to live.
Clean your RAM modules with cotten or tissue paper.
Clean the CPU cooler.

After install it should register the fans and temperature sensors in your pc. If any of those temperatures are over 60 degrees centigrade then they are getting high. Over 70 degrees and there is a risk of damage to the pc. If this is the case you will probably need to look at getting the fan repaired/replaced.

This would be due to a faulty sensor if it does not reboot and overheat then leave it be and buy a cpu cooler that goes underneathe the unit there around 20 bucks.
