Does mean that is not connected.
Double click on the icon, select your network and click connect.

If you were been connected before, you have some problem connectivity.
you can fin some help here:

1) Your Network or DSL router may have bad or missing information. Powercycle your router and/or rebuild the configuration in your router.

2) Double-check your cabling to the computer. Make sure you have the correct type of cabling, straight-through CAT 5 or possibly a crossover cable and try another cable or test the cable to make sure its working properly.

3) Check your network card to make sure its configured correctly and working properly. Many times setting the network card to 10Mbps/Full Duplex will solve this issue. To do this, open Control Panel, System, Device Manager. Go to the properties of the Network card, click on the Advanced tab and find the Link Speed and Duplex section. Change it from Auto Detect to 10Mbps/Full Duplex.

4) Check and test your firewall. Your firewall, especially if its a software firewall like ZoneAlarm, Black Ice, Norton Firewall or something else could be blocking the connection. Disable your firewall and test the connection. You may have to resolve the problem by even uninstalling and reinstalling the firewall.

5) Check your IP address assignments and workgroup settings in the computer for accuracy. Statically assign IPs to the computers in your network.

6) Reset your TCP/IP stack by downloading and running WinsockXPFix.exe a Visual Basic program designed to fix corrupted TCP/IP issues, host file problems and a variety of other connectivity issues.

Appears wireless LAN card does not exist and I

Hi,
Are you talking about wireless card in a notebook. Please clarify. If your answer is "yes" Check the wireless ON switch on your notebook. It could be in off position by mistake or to save power. (for some manufacturers to activate wireless card you need to use combination of keys (e.g. Fn+key with wireless sign)
Then check device manager
Go to start-control panel ->system->hardware and device manager.
Click on cross to expand network adapters. Wireless should be visible there. From there just right click on the wireless adapter and select "uninstall" option.
Restart your notebook (or desktop) to have thie driver reinstalled AUTOMATICALLY.
Please let me know if problem persists.

Cross-referencing databases

This should be relatively easy, just create a query that has an equijoin on the name fields. If you're worried about misspellings, you could match on a soundex of the names.

Audio

It appears that you have no driver for your sound system in your operating system.
If you have the cds, reinstall your drivers.
If not,
Search on the net for drivers for the motherboard.
Your sound is on the motherboard, thus you will need the mother board drivers and sometimes software for installation.

Something may have happened to knock out the drivers. Reinstalling may fix the problems.

Finepix S5700

This is from Fuji when I emailed them with the same problem.

Is their a yellow question mark, red cross or similar next to finepix ptp camera in device manager ?
Do you have an all in one scanner/printer or a webcam connected to windows xp pc ?
As it is possible the above may conflict with the camera.

We will temporarily disable your scanner.
Please try the following,
Connect your scanner, switch the scanner on, right click on Computer, left click on Properties, left click on Hardware and left click on Device Manager.
Please left click on the plus sign next to Imaging Devices, your scanner will be listed in this section.
Right click on the scanner, left click on Disable, click on Yes, a red cross will appear next to the scanner and please do not restart pc.
Please switch the scanner off or disconnect, connect the camera and switch on.
In the same Imaging devices section, right click on Finepix ptp camera, left click on uninstall, click on OK, do not restart pc and please switch the camera off.
Please double left click on the finepix viewer program icon on your desktop, please click on the drop down menu, SETTINGS, left click on OPERATION SETTINGS WHEN CAMERA IS CONNECTED.
Please untick AUTOSTART FINEPIX VIEWER WHEN THE CAMERA IS CONNECTED, click on OK and then restart computer.
After your pc has rebooted and you are back to desktop, please switch the camera on.
The Fuji camera will be re-installed, a box should appear in the middle of your screen, click on scanner & camera wizard.
If the box does not appear then please double left click on my computer, right click on the Fuji camera model, left click on Get Pictures and follow the on screen prompts to download the images.

Didn't work for me and I gave in and bought a card reader, but it's worth a shot.

Ipod 5th gen (video)

Hmm, I don't know if I know the solution, but I'll give it a shot:

Do the normal automatic way of trying to find the driver then look in the hardware device list (control panel) you should see you ipod listed under other devices with a yellow triangle next to it. right click this line and select properties. then click update device driver. then DON't do the automatic find, instead click i will choose the device from a list. Click on "storage device" and voila! VISTA now finds a USB mass storage device and install it
