SOURCE: Lenovo Y530 T 3200 3GHZ 4G Laptop not charging

Take the battery out, with the power plugged in replace battery, orange battery level lights on the laptop will light probably stay on for a few seconds then go out. Repeat until battery level lights indicate a lower level usually one light. continue watching charge state ( the blue battery led on the lower left on the laptop should be blinking) once the battery gets a start charge it should continue to fully charge. Sometimes batteries drained too low don't have enough power to run their internal circuitry to start charging.

Lenovo Y550P stopped charging battery

Check the Power Adapter and Outlet:
Ensure that the AC power adapter is securely connected to both your laptop and a functional power outlet.
If your laptop has an AC power indicator light, make sure it's illuminated. If not, try a different wall outlet (avoid using a power bar) .

Battery Charge Stops at 60%:
If your battery charge stops at 55%-60% and shows a "plugged in, not charging" message, it might be due to a power management setting.
Some Lenovo laptops have a feature that limits battery charging to extend battery life. To disable this:
For models with Lenovo Energy Management, Lenovo Power Manager, OneKey Optimizer, Lenovo Settings, or Lenovo Vantage:
Check if "Conservation Mode" is turned on. If so, turn it off.
If the issue persists, try updating your laptop's BIOS:
Go to the Lenovo support website, download the latest BIOS for your model, and install it.
Reboot your PC and check if the problem is resolved.
Hard Reset:
Sometimes a hard reset can help resolve charging issues:
Shut down your computer.
Remove the battery (if detachable).
Hold down the power button for 30 seconds (with the battery removed).
Reattach the battery, plug in the AC adapter, and turn on the computer. The battery should start charging .
If these steps don't solve the problem, there might be other causes.

Why is my laptop unable to run off battery power, even though battery shows fully charged and AC is unplugged

It's time for you to replace your battery.

how old is your laptop? and how do u use it - do u leave it plugged into the wall socket all the time? It's common for batteries to die out after a couple of years. however, if the computer overheats or if you leave it plugged in all the time, it's life cycle will decrease. Charge - discharge cycles. That's how you are suposed to do it.

Baterry isnt charging it only works on AC power DELL PP22L

Press the function and F3 button. This will enable/disable charging. If that does not work, then you either have a power adapter that is not creating enough voltage to charge the battery or the battery has gone bad.

If thelaptop battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be worn out.Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cycles andwill lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% andgradually the charge reduces until the battery won't charge up at all. OR Thebattery shows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected the batterydrops off to zero capacity in a very short time. If the battery drops to anunacceptable charge level then the battery needs to be replaced.

My lenovo x 60 tablet battery shows 0% available, not charging. I have got a new battery and it still shows the same message. can u provide a solution

Hi deepak_nangi,

There are two possible reasons why you are getting 0% available, not charging prompt even if you already got a new battery. It couls be an AC adapter issue or the DC In. Kindly follow the basic troubleshooting below that will help you isolate the issue:

1. Remove the battery from your system and use the AC adapter alone. If your system is not charging using the charger alone, then it's already defective and needed replacement.

2. You may also try using your AC adapter with other system where it is compatible. If it will work with other laptop then the issue is the DC In.

3. The DC In is the port where you are plugging in your AC Adapter. It is buit in to *********** board. If the DC In is loosed your system will not be charged as well. If this will be the case then the mother board needs replacement.

Doing these steps will help you determine the cause of the problem.

Hope it helps.

Thank you for using Fixya.

I had a similar problem with my Acer Aspire after I got a replacement battery about 6 months ago.
I was told to disconnect the laptop, turn it off, disconnect the battery, then press the power button for 30 seconds to reset the charging circuit.

I did this, but it didn't work any better. I thought that since my charger seems to run the computer, but it says 0% Available (plugged in, charging) that there was something wrong with the battery.

So, I contacted the manufacturer of the battery and they said they would refund my money within 7 days after receipt, and they gave me an RMA number for the return on the address label.

I, also, got the battery from Ebay.
---
Since your problem is that the battery icon with a red X over it says 0%, I would say that maybe the battery is bad, or maybe the battery is not connected very well at the contacts. Maybe blow the contacts off with compressed air in order to clean any dust which may be on it.

I would maybe try another battery to try to see if the charging circuit is bad on the laptop.

If another battery doesn't work, then the charging circuit between the laptop and the battery may be faulty.

Good luck on this repair.

Battery problem-plugged in, not charging. Lenovo 3000 N100.Type:0768.Model:24U.S.no:L3LA215. Please offer a solution.

Had the same problem with a manufactured refurb, would go to 79 %, if you go to power options, change plan settings, change advance power settings, then to the Lenovo energy management tab, press the big enable Lenovo energy management, click on the blue gear to the left of the question mark, if "Optimize for Battery lifespan" is selected it will only charge the battery to 80%, change this to "Optimize for Battery Runtime" and it will charge to 100%
