No pressure in the pressure washer

Hello,
I'm having trouble with my Honda Pressure washer. I connected up the hose, trigger and water hose. Turned on the pressure washer, then pulled the trigger and started it up. Within a few seconds, I had good pressure and used on the roof for about 1 1/2 hours. Then I got off the roof and shut down the motor, and did something (forgetting to shut off the water hose). This was for about 15 minutes. When I started it back up, I do not have any pressure in the pressure washer. It is just spraying very lightly. What have I done? Is it an easy fix?

Leaving the hose on shouldn't cause a problem so don't panic. It sounds like you could just have a dirty nozzle. Try sticking a pin or something in the end of the nozzle (machine not running) and giving it a clear out. also if it is a two peice gun, split it and tap the squirting part on something clean like a workbench to clear any debris that might have got in there.

When water is running through system, the motor has to run to keep the pressure built up. So, if the water is leaking out, the motor think it needs to keep running to keep the pressure built up. The leak needs to be fixed to the motor will not run constantly.

I have a honda 2600 pressure washer. After running fine for a couple of seconds the water will stop flowing out the tip. It is receiving water, but will not flow it to the pressure hose. I even disconnected...

This happens when air gets inside the hose. An air bubble of sorts is in the hose and will not build pressure until you blow the air out of the line. Start the pressure washer, turn on the water. pull the trigger on the gun. It will spitter and spatter and come to a trickle. release the trigger on the wand. Pull the trigger again and it will eventually work it self out.

Won't stay running

Pressure washer when you first try to start them that stop underload. We had the same type of problem with 11 hp Honda if you hold the trigger open the motor will be under less load we found by running the motor for about a minute it would work normally. Remember to make sure the water hose is turned on pull the trigger on, until water is coming out of the wand , now try and start the motor but also hold the trigger open, now you will not be building maximum pressure, after about a minute release the trigger and see if it keeps running.

I bought a honda pressure washer power boss 3000. I load the gasoline, start the machine, but pressure water is not coming out from the trigger. i tried so many things , but can t get started.

If you are using a water tank for water supply, remove the water supply line from the pressure washer and connect a water hose from a faucet. Turn the water on, then crank the engine. Pull the trigger of the spray gun until water comes out. When then water starts to spray properly the release the trigger, shut engine down with pressure on the line then reconnect the water supply from the tank to the pressure washer. If this fixes the problem then the problem was "air-locked"! Happens alot with new pressure washers that have never been run. If you need any other help, please email me @ [email protected]

Washer has low pressure. but can see pressure build up in hose. then when squeez triger motor stops.

Hello, W/D here.

Sounds like it may be air locked. Connect the hose to the washer. Connect the wand and hose to the washer. Open the supply water, and hold down the trigger on the spray wand. Be patient, this can take several minutes.
Now crank the washer.

Engine runs , not getting any water flow when trigger pressed.

Disconnect hoses.
Look for kink in water hose.
Check incoming water connection for filter washer
Replace filter washer
If you don't have a filter washer, put one in.
Hook up water, and turn on
Water should come out other side of pump.
Turn on machine.
Do you get pressured water out of pump.
If no pressure, then pump is suspect
Hook up washer hose without gun
Does pressure come out of washer hose
Finally, the gun trigger may be bad.

We had to buy guns now and then.
Search for pressure washer guns
Following link shows guns we used:

2-yr old troy-bilt pressure washer with honda gcv160 engine. seems to run well, but when trigger is pulled get full pressure for less than 5 seconds before reducing to house water pressure. when left...

It sounds like an air lock. Try this: With the machine off, connect the hose to the washer and let it run for several minutes to get all of the air out of the hose, and to purge any air out of the pump. Shut off the water, and connect the high pressure hose, but not the gun. Let the water run for several minutes. stretch out the HP hose and make sure that the air is displaced. Shut off the water, connect the gun, and purge as before. Now crank it washer up. As quickly as safe to do so, open the trigger to keep water moving through the washer. It should come up on pressure very quickly. It is better during normal operation to keep water moving through the system. When I am through for a while, I shut down my washer, but leave the trigger depressed to allow the pump to stay full of water, and cool. This prevents further problems when I restart it.
Hope this was useful.

When garden hose is connected to the pressure washer no water comes out of the wand, engine is off.

Dear radcongirl,
Try removing the high pressure hose from the machine. Then connect the water hose and see if water comes out of the outlet.( you can also try this by putting on the machine for a few seconds). If water comes out of the outlet, then you have a problem in the high pressure hose or the wand and trigger. Check also the lance and nozzel for blockage.
I do not know what kind or model of machine you have, but most machines the water always comes out of the outlet when water is fed to the inlet. In bigger machines this cannot happen because they have a reserve tank.
Regards,
Fulltech.
