Child Lock continuously flashing

I noticed the child lock flashing but I wasn't using the dishwasher at the time. Maybe one of us leaned on it or something. Anyway, now it won't turn off. I tried holding the energy saver dry button for 4 seconds as directed in the user manual but that still didn't make it stop flashing. Now the dishwasher won't run. Any other ideas on what to do? Does it sound like I need a professional repairman?

I had similar child lock flashing problem a year or so ago. I can't remember how I fixed it then but we have it again. Energy Saving button doesn't clear the problem. I've flipped the circuit breaker and reset but now I'm leaving the breaker off for a longer period

I got the same problem that started 2 days ago. Holding the Energy Saver Button for the 4 seconds does nothing. The dishwasher does not operate and the light flashes continuously when the door is closed. If I press the cancel button, both the Child Lock and Cancel button lights flash in unison. Did anyone find a solution to this problem?

The child lock light flash

Hello. Your Kitchenaid unit has the child-lock enabled. Look for a button(or set of buttons) that has a small lock symbol beneath or the word "lock". On most models, you have to push and hold the button(s) until the lock light goes out(usually about 3-5 seconds). That should disable the lock and the unit should operate normally. I hope this helps you!

Our dishwasher continuously flashes "CL"

Hi trrhodes,

I believe the CL you are getting means "Child Lock". Under normal circumstances there should be no activity at all on your machine.

Please do the following:
- On the Facial Panel (Where the buttons are located), look for 2 buttons marked together with a line, it should also have a face of a child somewhere on that line.
- Press both these buttons together for 3 - 5 seconds, this should reset the Child Lock.

Kind Regards :-)

Jacques

Control lock is on and don't know how to turn it off

Without knowing the manufacturer and model number, it is impossible to be specific. But most dishwashers that have a control lock light means that you have a child safety feature on the dishwasher. If you look closely, you may see some symbol that ties two buttons together and maybe if you press both at the same time, the child lock out may turn off.

Post info about the make and model here to get more specific.
