Dehumidifier cannot adjust humidity setting. Just stays on "ON". I can't remember how to re-set to get it to adjust again.

SOURCE: My dehumidifier is not working.

I'd say you're right on target. In which case, although the unit was manufactured my Whirlpool for Sears under their house brand, Kenmore. You can find the part(s) online at Sears Parts Central
http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/index.action . If you can do the replacement yourself, you'll really save $$ on labor.

Hope this helped you. Please let me know. Thanks.

Is the water tank filling up? That will verify that the unit is really functioning normally. If so, is it possible that outside air is infiltrating the space?

My Haier DE45EAL is difficult to adjust the Humidity How do I do it?

The arrow down button lowers the humidity level to what you want to extract and maintain. The higher settings remove little to know humidity and maintains a higher humidity level.

If you're trying to extract a lot of humidity/condensation, lower it to 35%.

Hope this helped you & thanks for choosing FixYa

I just purchaed a DE Series Dehumidifier. The instructions say to press the arrows keys to adjust the humidistat, but whenever I push the arrows the display reads "on". So I don't know what...

It is not abnormal for ON to show up when you first push the arrow up or arrow down button. If you want to lower the humidity press the arrow down button again, once the ON lights up. The lower you take the percentage the more humidity will be removed.

Hope this helps you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

It's easy to replace, if after you dismantle the unit, you know what to look for. If not, than it would be difficult. Your Owner's Manual may have a schematic in it, that would be of tremendous help. If it doesn't contact Heat Controller Inc, and ask them to email you a schematic. Then, after reviewing it, you can decide whether it would be to difficult or not for you to do.

Fedders a7dh45b2a*a-r dehumidifier shuts off before the bucket fills

Actually, it's probably doing what it should. Let me explain: Dehumidifiers run until they have lowered the humidity/moisture level to where you have the humidity extraction level set. At that point, the unit shuts OFF, until senses the humidity level has risen above where you set the level and it turns ON again. That doesn't mean the bucket will always be full when it shuts OFF. It may turn ON & OFF many times before the bucket is full. Watch for the Bucket Full Light to illuminate. That's when the bucket is FULL and needs to be emptied.

Hope this helped you understand how the unit works.

What is the proper setting for the Temp &Humidity?

Set the temp level at whatever point your home's temperature is now. Lower the humidity level to 35%. If you don't have an LED screen on your unit, set the manual control to maximum. This way, you will extract the maximum amount of humidity and make your home more comfortable.

Hope this helped you. Please let me know. Thanks.

Have classic dehumidifier model#CDR4500E. Can't adjust it automaticaly to come on or shut off. Don't understand the keypad fuctions, booklet to confusing.

Your dehumidifier preset default humidity level of 70%. Which is rather high, if you're using the unit in the hot Summer months. You can override this setting and lower the humidity level in increments to as low as 35%. Which is ideal during hot, humid weather. The Air Down button lowers the humidity level.Once the level is set, the unit will cycle ON and OFF as necessary, to maintain the level of humidity.

I have looked at the Owners Manual for you unit, and it's very thorough. But, I can understand, if you're not familiar with how the units work, it could be confusing. Page 5, is very informative on how to operate the unit, as far as setting humidity levels, which is what's important. If the operation of the unit continues to be a problem for you, contact Danby Customer Support 1-800-263-2629 and they can walk you through the procedures, while on the phone with them.

Hop this helped you. Please let me know. Thanks.

Humidity sensor reads to low and does not kick the machine on. The readout seems to always be at 20% and wont kick on till 35% Is there an adjustment i can make to tuen the unit on?

It probably doesn't need adjusting, It's simply a case that 20%, there's not enough humidity for the sensor to read. But, at 35% there is. I'd say, your dehumidifier is working as it should.
FYI - there is no adjustments to change the factory settings.

Hope this helped you, chu.

You may have the humidity setting to high. Try lowering it to 45%. Or if yours doesn't have an LED Screen, set it for minimum. Also, check and clean the air intake filter, if you haven't already. Keep in mind, most dehumidifiers have a fan that may seem to run constantly, but the compressor doesn't turn ON. The fan is circulating air, in a effort to detect humidity levels that are higher than what you have the humidity removal set on.

Hope this helped you.

Our dehumidifier turns on for only a few seconds, then shuts off.

Wendy, it's probably because the humidity level on the unit is set higher than the humidity level in the house. Keep in mind, the humidity level you set the control to, is not the amount extracted from the air. It's the level you want it to maintain. The higher the percentage level, the more humidity stays in the house. The lower the percentage level, the more humidity it removes, until the lower humidity level is reached. Then the humidifier will automatically shut OFF and/or the unit shuts OFF, because the bucket is full. Once it's emptied and replaced, if the unit needs to continue to extract humidity, it will start running again.

Hope this helped you solve the problem. Please let me know. Thanks.
