hi, if protect comes up while the amp is standing alone without any speaker leads or input leads connected, then you definitely have an internal circuit fault, with either the power regulator circuits, or the amplfier circuits.

Any sound problem can be confirmed only if the signal is traced and identified so as to confirm the section. You will need an AF- audio frequency - generator to inject and confirm the section where the amplification is low .
Also a check on the pre-amp output and a signal to the INPUT can confirm the output amplfier.
Finally check the speakers, test with a working speaker.

If nothing else, get the manuals for the preamp and the EQ. You'll probably have to pay for them.

Don't use excessive EQ.

I can only guess as to the nature of your problem, but I'll try. If you're trying to hook up your amplfier and its a 5.1, or 6.1 amp you need to hook up the audio by using the orange output on the flat screen, it may be labeled "coax" or "hd audio out" or surround out, this is the one wire you need to reproduce the surrond sound with left, right, center and rear speakers, and also the sub woofer. The other outputs on your tv will be red and white or red and black, these are the analog audio out and you plug them into your amplifer too, but they won't be 5.1 sound, although your sub woofer will still work. Use a wireless speakers system and connect it to the Audio Output RCA jacks on the back of your set( red/white). You can find various style to fit your decor. Google it.

i need to know is the blue wire comming from the amplfier or comming from the radio?

if its comming from the amplfier then
you need to connect this to the igintion wire (yellow) or if the radio has it connect it to the radio (it shoudl become 12V when radio turns on)

if its comming from the radio then
you need to connect it to the remote jack in the amplfier
the wire become 12V when the radio turns on
and the amplfier only turn on when the remote connection on the amplifier becomes 12V

That jack is for output not input, that is use for amplfiers,
the auxiliary input for pioneer is on the blue square plug
