How do I play a PAL game on an NSTC system?

I bought a few WII games in Asia, assuming they would be compatable with the North American system. With my amazing detective work, I've found out that Asian systems are PAL and NA systems are NSTC. Is there any way to enable my NSTC system to play both PAL and NSTC games, or alternate between the two. Keep in mind I'm very very untechy, so the simplest step by step instructions would be appreciated. Cheers in advance! Hopefully there's a solution for this!

I think the link you gave me is only to mod it so you can play burnt Gamecube games. The games I got are all Wii games. Or am I reading it wrong? Very appreciated btw!!

Sorry, meaning the link from christofritz... or is that for Wii games as well as Gamecube?

  • ismileicrazy Oct 28, 2008

Thats awesome! Thanks a lot christofritz. I haven't tried it out yet, but will later tonight. Is it difficult to format the wii? You mean the wii updates i'm assuming? You're the best! Thanks again!

There seems to be a way , but it requires modding your wii
Look here for more info http://www.se7ensins.com/forums/wii-modding/63729-tut-softmod-wii.html
softmodding is better

The Wii games should work with the proper updates (for pal) there is also a freeloader you can look at here: http://www.renchi.com/renchi/Wii_Accesso...

If you have already updated that will block this, you can format the wii and it should undo the updates. I reccomend storing your saves on an SD card.

Well i bought a game called 2k8 basketball here in philippines, but i bought my xbox on australia, then i tryed my game and it said, ( The disc's region code is incorrect for this consol ) so how can i...

Sorry you can't fix it. Most games are Region specific meaning that they are playable only on Xbox 360 systems from the specific region that you have. If you bought your Xbox 360 in Australia then it is likely PAL system and can only play Pal games.

"Determine whether the game disc is from the same region as the region where you purchased the Xbox console. To determine the region, view the back of the game package. Look for one of the following codes:

* NTSC: North America and South America (United States, Canada, Mexico, Chile, and Brazil)
* NTSC-J: Asia (Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Singapore, and Taiwan)
* PAL: Europe, South Africa, India, Australia, and New Zealand"

If the game you have doesn't match with your Xbox 360 Region then you won't be able to play it. (but a few games are playable on multiple regions, check list below)

Check out this site prior to buying games to help identify which games that aren't PAL might be still playable on your system.: http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-00-3-xbox360_compatibility_guide-49-en-84-t.html

Notice that NBA 2K8 US version is not compatible with PAL system. If you had bought the US version of NBA 2K9 then it would have worked.

We bought three Playstation 2 games in the US, and now find we are unable to play them in Australia due to the region code. Is there any way to fix this?

By getting the console modded to play any region games. May also be a compatibility issue with games I assume Aussie TVs are PAL like NZ. USA games may run in NSTC. Some TVs can allow this but don't know if it effects the console though

American disc won`t play on my ps2 console in the uk all i get is please insert disc

if your ps2 is not a modded one sorry to tell you but yours is a pal ps2 (means you live somewhere in asia europe)so there is some difference i the american ps2 disc(ntsc) and pal ps2 disc both are designed to play in specific consoles so if you bought they console from ntsc territory(japan ,north america) it should work for sure but sometimes in japan and all they sell pals also but there is still chance try returning the cd to the shop and buy a pal disc or you can mod your ps2 from ps2 technicians (they are all around the world, every console shop has one) and then you can play american disc this is the only chance it will only take a small 25 bucks from you just mod it and u can play games u burned from your computer and also any pal ,ntsc territory original discs also

Wii wont copy powersave to wii system memory

Hi, I had this problem till I discovered that the save was not a pal save but an american save so the system is looking for a different region game.

You need to have the same save as the region of game being played.

Ps2 game i got from englan(pal) wont play in my system here .

If you are in North America, you PS2 will not play PAL formatted disks. (NTSC is what is used here). You would need a modded PS2 to play the game. If you can get your money back, I would recommend that. If not, then you might want to try to sell it on eBay.

Error, remove disc, turn power off

In Singapore, your region is considered "Asia." The simplest way to play Wii games on a Wii from a different region was using Datel's Freeloader disc, but unfortunately Nintendo has patched their firmware blocking the use of this. There are other ways to modify your console to play games from other regions, but all carry a high pricetag and a great deal of risk, and Nintendo can patch the firmware to detect your modification and stop your system from working. You might consider importing a Wii from the UK using Play-Asia.com or a similar retailer. Best of luck!

Usa wii console will not sync wii uk wii fit

The UK Wii Fit would be the PAL version and the US Wii is the NTSC version. I don't doubt that there is something preventing then to sync seeing that they are from different territories. You will need a North American Wii Fit in order to use it with your North American Wii.

Ps2

Hey buddy FORMAT DISC means PAL games or NTSC games format.

There are 2 formats dics in this world for the PS1,PS2,PSP,Wii,Gamecube.etc

They are [NTSC] and [PAL]

[NTSC] is for North America and Japan ONLY. [NTSC] is Original games.

[PAL] is for Asia Only. Which is copied games form the Originals.

I need to know were did you bought PS2 Console from ?

If you bought it in North America or Japan then you have to buy and play Original games from North America Only.

If you bought your PS2 in Asia then you can play copied games.

It is most likely your PS2 is a NTSC, your PS2 cant read any PAL games so it will say format dics.

Screen losing color.. turning black and white

Your TV goes black & white, because your Wii could be NTSC or PAL which. If your Wii is PAL and your TV is NTSC then the TV will show a blac and white color. Since NTSC is for North America and PAL for Asia
