Sony tv picture keeps flashing

Surely the emission of the CRT is going out.

i'd say your tv is unhappy.

unplug for 10 min..and see if that resets it.

There are potentially dangerous high voltages present inside the set even when unplugged, so caution is required. That being said, if you can solder, you may be able to resolve this. If the picture returns with movement, it is possible that the problem is poor solder connections. Try removing the back and sliding out the main board. Resolder any connections that appear grasiny or have rings. That may resolve the problem.

your tv had a problem.if you have a knowledge in electronics, check or replace the horizontal transistor beside the plyback. it is a black square parts with 3 pins.

the problem is internal,theres what is called the ''lines transformer'' inside thats what is faulty,call your tv technician for services

Possibly dry solder joints or faulty coupling capacitors around the audio section.

Is the picture coming and disappearing? Or is it that the TV is switching ON and then OFF? And what about the sound? Please provide more details.
