Have you tried fresh batteries? try that first , if not successful , get a digital camera and point your remote control at the lens while the camera is on, if you see a white blinking light then the remote is fine , if you see nothing buy a new remote control .. it can be a problem with the infared amp inside the dvd player if all else fails.

There are four codes for Sanyo DVD players. They are 0670, 1967, 0873, 0695. Try these, if they don't work then something is wrong. But if the VCR side of your player works from the universal remote, the code is not the problem. It's a problem with the remote itself or the player. If the remote communicates with the player, whether it be the VCR or DVD, then the code you used is correct.

You can quickly test the remote in question with a digital camera... please vist my Tips & Tricks so see how.

If you have replaced the batteries with KNOWN GOOD ones, observed the proper polarity when re-installing the batteries AND made sure the remote is in DVD "mode" (if it is a multi-remote) when trying to use it, the remote is bad. Replace the remote.

One of the two things might have happened:
- The IR sensor got covered - by some reason
- the IR sensor talks to a small controller back - which is not working at all.

Also, if you know anyone who sells a DIGITREX dvd player can you please let me know as well. My dvd player is playing up and I need it for AFF to play widescreen movies on my 68cm TV.

If you tryed the manual search and it did not find any, I'm afraid this remote is not compadable with this unit. What happens when you gop into a manual search is the remote will go to each code, one by one, until it(the remote) goes to the end of the list that is programmed into itself. There simply is not a code for this unit. Unless it is a learning remote, where you can pporgram into or teach the remote from the original, I am sorry to say you will need to get another remote that has the right codes programmed in it.
