No Audio on Primary Screen

I've confirmed that "mute" is not on, but I am still not getting audio on my TV. However, if I put on the picture-in-picture and switch audio to the secondary/small picture, I do get audio. If I then switch the secondary/small picture to be the primary, the audio is again lost. I'm totally confused! What is the difference between the audio for the primary and secondary pictures? I am assuming that this will help me track down the problem. Thanks!

Sound has gone on 42inch wharfedale tv. No one can fix it. Advise please. [email protected]

Check whether the audio is muted by accidental press at remote control button. Enter its sound menu, and check it. If muted, as you know there will be no audio output. If not muted, check the speaker/s. If found OK; check and replace the damaged component/s at its audio output section circuit board. If needy, replace this board as card basis. No sound is coming out of my tv

Check whether mute function is on or not. Enter its sound menu and check it. If it is not off there, the fault is with its audio processor section, mute section, or audio output section. To make it confirm, your set need a through checkup. Contact any experienced service technician.

I have a Samsung LE40B650T2 - no sound direct from the TV

It sounds that the sound processing section [digital circuts] are working well, and the fault must be either to the speakers, settings or to analogue audio amplifier section. Make sure that the Mute function is OFF. If it is OFF, and still you do not get audio output by tV speakers, surely the fault must be to audio amplifier circuits, provided speakers are OK. If your TV has a headphone out socket, this socket should also checked for proper interconnection.

I have a Vx2433WM and am using it as a tv for my PS3 through hdmi connection. The audio stopped working. I tried muting and un-muting but nothings happening. How do I get my audio back??

Hi,
Welcome to Fixya. If the volume is not working on the monitor the next thing you need to check is the HDMI cable. If possible to replace the cable so that we can determine the problem if this is caused by the cable, the monitor or the PS3. You can also try to connect the PS3 to a different TV using the same cable and see if you will hear a sound. Please let me know what happen so that we can continue troubleshooting.
Thanks

Can't get tv audio through my Philips HTS3510.

Here is the user manual and quick start guide:
http://www.p4c.philips.com/cgi-bin/dcbint/cpindex.pl?slg=en&scy=ph&ctn=HTS3510/98

Be sure your connections are correct.

Press AUDIO SOURCE repeatedly to select
the audio output of the connected device (TV)

There could be audio settings on your TV which you can select only Internal or only external speakers or both. Be sure the setting is correct on your TV.

Be sure your TV and your HTS3510 are not set to "mute"... Don't laugh... I've done it before...

I have a Sharp LC37D43U TV that has no audio. The volume indicator shows can be moved up or down but no sound comes through the speakers. The picture works fine. I have nothing else connected to the TV....

It appears you ve discovered the sound task levers required to adjustment properties. Your Tv can still move levers even when the volume is set to mute. Select the unmute button before any voice or audio would be reactivated. Assuming that seting the TV on mute has predominant integrety over the volume functions where not unmuting usually with the same button on the remote would not achieve accessibility to the volume functions. refer to the TV user guide for diagnostic audios. Good luck

Volume on tv is locked volume wont go up or down and not even able to put on mute

Go to Menu from remote.
Select "Audio" and confirm "Internal" speakers vs. "External". Internal is the built in speaker sna external is when you are using a surround sound or reciever for audio.
Check this and follow up.
