Red and green flashing lights on 18v lxt charger

When I plug the my batteries into the charger I get an alternating red and green flashing light and the battery will not charge. Bother batteries were fine and showed no sign of degradation. Are they shot? Is this common?

Batteries don't always look degraded but if they've been in use for a while or have a bad cell, they will show up bad on the charger and it won't charge them. The only way to test the batteries is to try to charge them on another charger. If the batteries show defective on another charger, they are bad and you'll have to replace them. Also try to charge some batteries you know to be good on your charger to see if it's the problem. If your batteries charge on another charger, your current charger is bad and they don't have any replaceable parts in them so you'd be looking at replacing it.

Makita DC18RA Makstar Li ion Charger three lights

Alternate Red and Green flashing means bad battery. Buy a new one, or take it to a Makita Service center for replacement if it's under warranty.

Normally the yellow light indicates hot battery, but it could also mean dirty battery contacts so the heat sensor can't be read, or that the fan is clogged with dust and unable to cool the battery. The manual says let the battery cool and try again. If the yellow still flashes, it's contacts or the fan.

Red and green light flashing on 5 of my bl11830 battaries and they will not take a charge

If you put a battery on your charger and both red and green lights flash it is indicating that battery is defective. There may be a short in the battery or they just may be too old and worn out to charge anymore. If the charger is reading the battery as defective it will not charge the battery. The only fix is to buy new batteries.

Hi i have a litnium mkita 18v lxt cordless drill i have 2 batties and all 3 lights are staying on it wont charge its the simbal with the spaner and fan on it that comes up can you please tell me whats rong

HI, Its ok for the charger to have those lights on. If you have been using for quite some time or the batteries have had several charges then the charger will operate a service on the batteries to keep them in good condition. We have had a few take as long as an hour to service , then it goes into normal charge mode. Just leave it on to do its service and it should be fine. If there was a problem then the red and green lights would alternate flash and a siren beep would sound. Hope this was of help to you.

Red and green light flashes alternatingly with only one of my batterys of my makita 18v li-ion fast charger

unplug charger to let it reset. plug back in and then try again, if it still flashes red/green that would indicate a battery failure. check for warranty replacement.

The charging light flashes alternately in green and red color, charging is not possible.

You have defective batteries. Either they are old and used and can no longer take a charge and should be replaced, or they have a problem not allowing them to be charged.

If batteries are new, seek replacements. If old, time to buy new batteries.

If this happens with several batteries, and even new ones, your charger my be faulty.
