I went to use my microwave today and the lit control panel was BLANK. I have a Kenmore Elite 80802. I was able to cook my food by just hitting "manual cook" and spinning the dial and pressing the button. However, I can't time anything to cook anything special.
There is a transformer on front pc board.might need tech to have a looksee
I have had the same problem and had it professionally fixed before, but works the fastest is unplugging the unit and plugging it back in.
How old? Probably better to buy a new one instead.

Please provide the correct model # complete. It is located With the door open, mounted to the door jamb near the control panel, or Mounted on the rear of the microwave

Today I have the same problem and same model. Screen had several horizontal lines then just went blank. It appears bright but has no display. I can still use the microwave but can not time anything unless it's for the 30 second timer.
I have model 80802 and control panel is lit but does not display any information. Micro works but obviously cannot set timer, etc.

Unfortunately the "best solution" listed in FixYa was to buy a new unit - Ugh. Certainly not the "best".
Won't do anything -screen is blank. Tried another outlet to no avail.
how do you cook for more than 6 minutes at a time
Logik L20Gss10 microwave is stuck on defrost mode and I can't cook anything normally, I've pressed stop and again to clear it but no good, please help :)
