I've got an RCA 25205 2 line phone.(purchased yesterday 10-26-08 from Staples) I can not get the answering machine portion to work. I've recorded all of the messages ie work private, after hours for both lines and confirmed they are recorded. Work and after hours times are set. Answer button is on. OGA config is set to timed. Time and date are set and correct. When you call in to either line 1 or 2, the default message comes on and plays and then does not let you leave a message. It blinks that there is a new call and CID works. I have even replaced this phone with another RCA 25205. Exactly the same problem. What's wrong???
Yeah, I've wasted all morning messing with this. My personal outgoing message keeps reverting back to default. I just got off the phone with RCA and here's the fix for that part of the problem. Go into "Configure Out-Going Announcement" (page 23) and then select "personal," This finally made it stay there. The number I called for help is 1-800-511-3180, or 1-866-285-4651. Good luck!

phone mailbox is set up but when someone else calls and we do not answer, it does a default message that "the subscriber has not set up their mailbox" doesn't allow the caller to leave the message
need to add my own personal message on answer machine like office hours etc
