Are they both wired into a router or what? What are you trying to play online with that's not working (PS3 or PC)? Have you tried removing one from the network to use the other (a friend of mine has a PS3 and whenever it gets onto the network it kicks everything else off)?

Hi There.

If your PS3 is Networked upto Your PC to use the internet connection, You have to allow the PC to share its Internet connection with yout PC, Do this By going into Network settings, Checking the properties of your LAN card in your PC. and clicking on, "share my internet". This should alleviate that problem..

Or.

If your PS3's Wired connection isnt working. but your PC one is, Try moving your PS3 Lan cable into one of the other Free LAN Ports (if available) or Try Switching the PC cable over to the PS3's Port in the Router, and Visa-Versa !

With networking devices if you are switching the cable from on device to another then alot of times you have to restart the device.

What you need to do is with your PS3 turned off connect your wired cable. Next power off your modem (if you have a router to will want to turn it off too). Now turn back on the modem and wait about 2 minutes (Note if you have a router too after the 2 minutes you will turn on the router and wait another 2 minutes). After you have waited the 2 minutes turn back on your PS3 and it shoudl let you connect to the Internet.

The reason for the time wait is networking devices need a varying amount of time to connect with new devices. So if you wait the 2 minutes this will give your devices the time needed to connect. You may find that with you devices the reset time is faster. Also note if you have one cable coming out of your modem you some times have to wait on your ISP to reset the connection and this can take some time. So if you do not already have a router I would recommend that you get one. Getting a router should also resolve the issue that you are having.

Hello ps3. connection test fails all the time. i cant play online. help

if your wlan light isnt blinking, that might be your ethernet connection. try switching your ethernet connection from your computer to your ps3 ( if you have a wireless router ) if not keep it there but change your phone wire connections.

Just wanted to know is there any way to get my ps3 online

try opening a portal from you router to your ps3, the router will shut down all the things it need to in order to play your games more efficiently. If that doesn't work try hard wireing your ps3 to your router. If your getting online on your ps3 wirelessly then try moving your router or your ps3 closer together.

It may sound crazy but alot of people may not be playing when you are or they are playing something else so the the computer(connection) is searching for some players for you.

Is there a way to hook a PS3 to a pc and access...

Honestly, I doubt it, my friend.

Internet gaming takes up massive amounts of bandwidth. A simple cell phone modem would certainly not be able to handle the intensity of playing a PS3 online. I would advise in you just getting a router, and since you didn't mention a true internet service, possibly even an ISP (Internet Service Provider) if you don't have one.

I hope this helps you,

Nate

I cant play online without the modem being by my ps3?

Yes, using a longer ethernet cord will work, but the PS3 has a bult-in WiFi card that can connect to any wireless router (you can buy a wireless router from a computer store like BestBuy).

If you are going to buy a wireless router, see if a wireless G-mimo or wireless N with signal boost is within your budget. Try looking through the network settings to see if you can connect through the wireless router.

Or just get a longer ethernet cord and run it directly to the PS3 from the router. Ethernet cords are the most reliable connection, granted you are on a good internet connection, they won't get interference from things like mobile phones, cordless phones, microwaves, TV's etc.

I have both the PS3 and Xbox 360 and the only thing I like better about the PS3 is the free online game play and Blue-Ray. Other than that, they're even. Good luck and have fun online! If you find me (wraith0127) say hi! Don't forget to rate. Thank you!

Im trying to get online with my ps3 and it was working yesterday but now it isnt can you help?

Play the last game you played, you probably got temporarily banned. It happens ALOT on PS3. If not, try a different game. If that doesn't work, call Sony Customer Support and you will have to mail them the PS3. Within a week they will mail it back.
Hope this Helped.

My ps3 will not connect to my wireless internet

Try setting a static ip address on the PS3:-

First you need to find a Windows wired or wireless device already connected to the network in order to find out the required settings

Windows XP
1. Click start --> (sometimes settings) --> Control Panel --> Network Connections
2. Double click on the active connection which will say connected underneath
3. Click Support
4. Click Details
5. Now the IP Address, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway, Primary DNS and Alternate DNS which are displayed should be noted.

Windows Vista
1. Click Start --> Control Panel --> Network and Sharing Center
2. Click on "View Status" to the right of your connection
4. Click Details
5. Now the IP Address, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway, Primary DNS and Alternate DNS which are displayed should be noted.

Set these values under "manual settings" in the PS3 but add 1 to the last number for the IP Address as this has to be unique on your network
