The phone does not detect network

All functions are ok. SIM is inserted in place. It worked satisfactorily since 2004. It has fallen off hand number of times. still it worked until recently when problem arised. Even though network is available display showed no signs of a net work nor bacame able to find any network even after manual search is enabled. The problem seems to lie with the antnna circuit. Can you help ?

make sure the sim card can make good contact with the phone.
Also check if it doesn't have space to slide, causing it to loose contact with the phone.

Might be sim socket pins are not set properly..Might be a hardware problem..Go to nearest dealer..

sometimes it is as simple as cleaning the sim card and sim points on the phone with a pencil eraser. sometimes it is related to a simcard IC (usually placed close to the sim tray in the phone) so if u do not succeed cleaning the sim and sim points of the phone u need to change the simcard IC

It sounds like your samsung is locked to particular network.. You can remove this network restriction using unlock code.. you can purchase such code from any vendors online like

To enter unlock code for LG, You need to insert sim card from network which is phone currently working and enter unlock sequence mode 2945#****# where *** is the model of LG phone numbers, for example,
for KU990 enter 2945#*990#, GT540 enter 2945#*540#. When a secret MENU is shown, choos NETWORK and enter NCK code.

The NCK code (network lock) is a function of your IMEI number and kept in a database, if you want it unlocked find a torrent with the LG IMEI conversation database (doubtful) or pay an on-line place the 25 bucks to give it to you

Insert sim card diplays on the phone when i have already inserted sim the same sim card is working on other phones i tried with othr good sim cards the same problem exist

Clean the area of the SIM card detection pins and make sure that the card was inserted into the phone in the correct direction. If there is no detection with any card then the phone motherboard is defective but if the phone works with some card of a particular service provider then the phone is locked to that network-- in which case it will show and ask for unlocking code.

. First do a CUSTOM reset: *2767*2878# (star 2767 star 2878 hash)
turn off the phone
2. take out the battery and sim and put wrong network SIM and insert a half of it,
so it won't ask for network password and shows "Insert SIM" message.
Now put the battery ,and switch the phone on .(phone shows "Insert SIM" message.)
3.With out turn off the phone push the sim fully in. At this stage the phone is still asking to "Insert SIM"
4. Make a FULL reset by typing: *2767*3855#(star 2767 star 3855 hash)
5. The phone should reboot working with "wrong" sim inside.
6. Make a Change the NCK password to 8 zeros by typing: *7465625*638*00000000*00000000#
(star 7465625 star 638 star 8zeros star 8zeros hash)
7. Now Disable network lock By typing: #7465625*638*00000000#
(hash 7465625 star 638 star 8zeros hash)
Phone is unlocked (check with *#7465625#)

Keeps saying insert sim

**** TIPS ***
check and make sure if sim is working ok in any other hand set ( getting signals / registring on the network / able to make OG calls received n sent / receive sms)
IF the sim is working fine in other hand set, then put it back in E-71 . try manaul network selection
TOOLS - > settings - > network , and try manaul network selection on your GSM network . if still getting msg " NOT DONE "

you are having the phone hard ware issue.which is not too costly nither a time consuming ( depends on the avaiablity of the IC in your region ) so contact any trusted phone workshop else claim it if its in warrenty.

Insert sim

"Insert SIM" message is normally displayed on phones when a SIM card is not inserted on power-on or it does not detect the SIM card inserted.

Likely Causes:

No SIM card inserted or inserted SIM card is damaged
Inserted SIM card not positioned well in such a way as to make contact with the corresponding contact bridges on phone.
Phone locked to a specific network and can only work on other networks when the firmware version is "flashed", that is completely changed to an unlocked version.
The phone might be faulty (try with another good SIM, if you still get thesame message and its not one of the above reasons... it might be a transciever problem or the phone's SIM card slot's pins might be defective).
