Closed Captioned I don't have the manual nor the remote control. Can't get the closed captioned feature. I go to " menu" then go to closed caption but don't know what to do. I'm using the cable remote, which do not have a feature for the closed caption. Please advise. Thanks.

I also cannot disable closed caption and I don't know how it got turned on in the first place. I no longer have the original remote and accessing the menu using TV buttons does not provide an entry for closed caption. I also cannot navigate through the menu using TV buttons except for up/down...there is no left/right. My model # is one of the following: 13MT143S, 13MT1532, 13MT1533, 20MT133S, 20MS233S.

The answer to removing Closed Captioning can be accomplished rom the TV's Menu, select "Initial Setup," then toggle down to "Closed Caption." Then toggle to "Analog Service." Change the service from CC1 to "CC4." Finally, press the "Menu" button to exit. This selects a CC service that is reserved for future use but is currently transmitting nothing.

Push volume controls at the same time. This puts you in demo mode. Use the display button to cycle through to "close caption", and turn it off. This worked for me just now.

Assuming whatever your TV receiving from has close caption. (Not all TV channel has close caption) Solution 1) Get a new universal remote that support your model and has close caption button. Once you program in the code for your TV model and it works then all button should also programmed including th close caption button. Solution 2) Search online for the owner manual and read see how to turn it on using buttons on TV (if possible). Solution 3) Get new TV with close caption. (If you have an old old TV with bad and huge pixels then this solution is the best. Your eyes will thank you.)

Need to know how to put the tv on close caption

Captioned programs are marked in TV listings by "CC". so press the cc button on the remote and the closed caption option will be applied.press that cc button again to turn off the closed caption option.
1) Check the size and manufactured year of your television. If it was made after 1993 and is larger than 13 inches, it has a closed captioning system built into it. Otherwise, you may need to purchase a separate closed caption system, which are available at a number of online outlets.
  1. 2)Turn on your TV and access the menu for closed captioning. The precise location of the menu varies by television set. Most are accessible by pressing the "Audio" or "Set Up" menu on your remote, then scrolling down to the "CC" or "Closed Captioning" option. Check your owner's manual for precise instructions.
  2. 3)Turn the closed captioning option to the "On" position. It will then run closed captions for every program that broadcasts them. Newer sets may allow you to adjust the size, font and colors of the closed captioning letters to fit your individual tastes.
  3. 4)Tune to a particular program for a few minutes to make sure the closed captions are working. Note that while many broadcasts run closed captioning, not all of them do. If the captions don't appear, check your TV listing to ensure the program includes them.
  4. 5)If you're watching a DVd on your TV, access the DVD's "Set Up" menu. It should have captioned options, which allow you to show captions in English and possibly other languages as well.
  5. thanks.

How to activate "closed captioning" for a Proscan Full HD 1080P

Comcast's remote has nothing to do with closed captioning. It's on your tv remote. First, the tv has to be capable of handling closed captioning, and your's is- and second, the program must have closed captioning provided- current programs do, some older shows do not support closed captioning. Recheck your remote, and if necessary- look at the setup instructions that came with the TV- they should also be posted online at the Proscan support site.

Closed caption activiting on everytime tv is turned on

If you have the Suddenlink remote and the DVR box you can turn captions on or off by accessing a technical menu. To do this, press POWER and Menu buttons together (menu 2 times) to bring up a special menu. Select Closed Captions. On the popup menu select closed captions and using Select button change to OFF or ON as you wish. The trick is to get the menu to come up. Timing of pressing the two buttons is frustrating and it may take a few times befotre you get the special menu.
