The buttons on my deck dont light up anymore and I cant seem to find the function to turn them on or off. Of course the display brightness is up and the dimmer is on (also tried dimmer off) any ideas out there?? Or is there a fault? My display panel flickers in and out when i try to press buttons. Should i try and bend the connector tabs to make better conact? Is this a common issue with these decks? Thanks in advance---
I figured out the connector is the culprit. Can anyone suggest the good way to fix this deck ie. replacing the connector. Should i send it in to be repaired?? What is a good website to get parts?

It's probably too late, but Walmart, Taget and other stores sell the connection kits for most model vehicles, for under $20 bucks. Sounds to me like you had a short in your connections . Soldering is a pain in the ****, but it's the best way to go when doing car audio wiring.

I dont know what deck you have but you can try this. Turn off the deck by holding the source butten then hold the function butten you will be able to turn on and off the warn for the alarm along with the clock.
if you hold the source button to long the radio will turn off .You should get dfferent choices when pushing the source button but don't hold the button down.Push and release quickly
you have to turn the headunit off using the headunit (there is a button that says off or power just cant remember which one) once its off and is displaying only the time you hold the function button and all the other options will come up.
check the remote wire(the blue with white) is it giving 12 volts to the factory amp? some ford have amps that needs to turn on when the radio turns on.
