SOURCE: EOC-3220 connects but no internet access

What are you using for Internet connects? do you have the Access point connected to a Router. or is it connected to the Cable or DSL modem. I will need more information to complete this. If you have a router is is set to give an IP address or do you have a static IP? If it is set to give a Dynamic ip change the access point to recieve ip address from router and same with computer. If your connected directly to the Modem with the access point and you only have one IP address it will be used by the access point and not allow the computer to connect.
for more help please provide your internet (DSL, T1, CABLE) if you have router, how it provides IP, and how access point is connected to it.

SOURCE: Ip address for clients using autonomous cisco 1130ag witout dchp

the cisco1130ag will provide ip addresses and serve as a DHCP server for your laptops...

You still need an IP address for your 1130ag so either your ISP provides you a static ip that you can put in the 1130 or if your ISP provides dhcp then you should be able to plug and play with your 1130ag

You must be on the same subnet of the AP. Static your IP address to 192.168.0.29 with a subnet of 255.255.255.0. If it's hooked up to the same network you are, you should get in.

How to obtain public IP from Time Warner

There are two basic types of IP addresses of internet service providers (ISPs) to provide customers with Internet services: a dynamic address or DHCP and a static IP address. A static IP, as the name implies, uses the exact same IP, and you're online all the time. The DHCP IP configuration uses a "stack" of available IP addresses each time a modem is online and an IP address of the network of the ISPs is simply grabs the first available IP address from the stack. The IP configuration of DHCP, then it is very easy for a new public IP address from your provider at any time

1. Unplug the cable modem from Time Warner. Total count of 30 seconds and close.

2. Allow the modem to reboot every five minutes. During this time, goes through the boot cycle, contact your provider and ask for a dynamic IP address.

3. Navigate to the computer's IP Configuration Manager. For most versions of Windows, the easiest way to do this is to open the Start menu, click All Programs, then select "Command Prompt" from the "Accessories" menu (for future versions of Windows, you may need to the right button on the Command Prompt and select Run as Administrator "to show itself sufficient permissions on IP of the computer information).

4. IP address to test your computer by typing "ipconfig" and "Enter" Command to the numbers printed next to "IP address", like "IPv4 or IPv6 address." The number displayed on the public IP address of the DHCP as the modem from Time Warner will receive net.
How do I set netflix on my blueray to a different internet provider

Unless your situation is different from most of us, you only have one Internet Service Provider (ISP). That could be Comcast, Time Warner Cable, Verizon or another provider. Generally speaking, every home/apartment has only one provider feeding Internet to that location. If you have a separate detached home, you may have a choice of who will install Internet service in your house, but if you live in an apartment, you may have to use the provider that the rental company allows to provide service.

Either way, once you have Internet service, you must use that provider for Netflix until you switch to another provider. I personally just switched from Time Warner Cable to a local company offering gigabit fiber optic Internet service. I had the fiber optic cable installers leave the coaxial cables that Time Warner ran through my house, but those cables are no longer connected to Time Warner's system.

depending on your location - check with others to see who they use, then either call them or go online to check availability, pricing and sometimes you can even order online! I have AT&T Uverse and if you go to ATT dot com- then go to SHOP tab, you can see availability by your address and order internet - TV- and even phone service. It will also show different pricing according to the speed of internet. You want faster if you watch videos and movies online. You also may have a Cable company in your area, where I live it is Cox Cable and Time Warner Cable companies. So you may have to search online or ask neighbors who they use and go from there and find their website to call them or order online. At&t I ordered, then got the Wireless Wifi router box so can hook up main computer and use your laptop or other devices with it wirelessly. so keep that in mind when ordering also - my neighbor doesn't have any laptop or any other stuff so he was happy to get a Wired router, with No wireless wifi connection

I cannot get internet on my laptop from an open access point with Time Warner internet

Hello,

Though you are getting strong signals from the router, the router itself may not be connected to the Internet. The owner may leave the router on but power off the modem. It is possible that they may use the router for thier own private network with no connection to the Internet. When you connect to the router, check your network and sharing center to see if you see an X marked on the connection between the router and the Internet. If you do, the router is not connected to the modem.

Good Luck
