My Capacity Plus Admiral Washer will spin and agitate, but it makes a loud grinding noise.

Why is my washer making a loud grinding noise while agitating. It's spinning, rinsing and all other cycles as usual, but with a loud noise while agitating.

Well, Sounds to me like the Bearings are going out, but it could make that noise a good while, before it goes completely out.. Replacement would possably be more cost effective, Kinda hard to beleive !!!!!!

I have a Admiral Capacity Plus washer LNC6267B71. Washer makes loud grinding noise when agitating & spin cycles. Machine does fill, drain, agitate & spin. Only noise is concern.

Hello. Your symptom describes damaged bearings and/or a damaged transmission. This is a MAJOR, INVOLVED repair requiring special tools to prevent serious injury during dis-assembly and re-assembly. I strongly suggest acquiring outside service to repair this machine if cost effective. There are many parts that have to be removed and then replaced--if you've never done this--don't attempt it. There is a brake spring with 200lbs of torque on it that has to have a special tool mounted to relieve the tension during removal and then re-compress it during replacement for example. Sorry to be so dramatic but I don't want you to get hurt needlessly. I hope I helped you!

Washer won't agitate or spin

i believe this is what we call a direct drive system 2 things it could be is the drive coupler located under unit between the transmission and motor .it is a plastic piece with 3 prongs on each side and a black rubber bushing that goes in between each side to connect ..it is somewhat like a shear pin on a tractor it is designed to break when to much pressure... before you check this make sure the unit is making some sort of noise when it is suppose to agitate or spin..you should hear the motor running just won't spin the tub... if you are not hearing anything then i would suspect you have a bad lid switch on the unit... the lid switch is like a safety switch while running if the lid is raised the unit will stop power supply to motor ...you can check the lid switch byby passing it temporarily and see if it works .... one of the 2 may be your issue.... good luck to you

Admiral aav-1 makes loud grinding will not spin or drain

Hi, the drain pump impeller is damaged. you will need to replace the entire pump(drain) in this case.

You will hear this noise when the impeller become separated from the actual drive stud or, shaft.

Whirpool lsq9244eqo fills and drains but does not spin or agitate

It sounds like the agitator gripping teeth are worn out. To check this, take the agitator cap off with a strong knife or flat-head screw driver, pull the cap off and check the plastice teeth and four plastic hooks that grab the teeth. If they are worn out, then you will have to replace the agitator. To replace it, you will see a nut that is between the circlular teeth. Unscrew the nut and pull the agitator up hard.

Won't agitate

Ours did this and it was because the bearings had busted. I called a local repair guy and he told me over the phone just by listening to the sound. Maybe you could do the same. I do know this, if it is your bearings, buy a new washer. It's not worth the repair...trust me.

Loud noise while agitating in wash cycle

If you begin dissassembly from the tub down, you wil come to the transmission with the spindle sticking out of it. If you undo the bendable tabs all around the transmission it comes apart in two halves. Careful, its full of oil. The spindle has a plastic gear bolted to the bottom of it. It meshes with other gears in the tranny. It has sheered teath and is making the noise.
