Not really.
fn is a laptop only thing.

not told what fn , feature you need,
but do try usb f1 to F12. alone, see if that works

SOURCE: The bluetooth turns on using FN + F11 it should

As per the manual the FN and F11 keys turn on both Bluetooth and Wireless so you need to try it will turn bluetooth and then it will turn on wireless, you can check them by LEDS

Press and hold the Fn button, and then press the F11 button
repeatedly to enable or disable the Wireless LAN or Bluetooth function
recurrently.

Wireless LAN and Bluetooth:
Wireless LAN LED indicator glows green when Wireless LAN function is
enabled.
Bluetooth LED indicator glows blue when Bluetooth function is enabled.
Both LED indicators glow green and blue at the same time when both
functions are enabled.
Both LED indicators go out when both functions are disabled.
Note: For flight safety consideration, make sure these two LED indicators
go out when you are in flight.

Let me know if you are able to turn the wireless on

Also i will suggest you check in device manager that you wireless adapter is enabled

To reset the BIOS password read the information from this link.

In case of your laptop the easiest method would be using software from Hiren's Boot CD as it's pretty hard to open it up and reach for the CMOS battery or the jumper and I wouldn't recommend doing it especially if it's under warranty.

My msi u210 stays black the screen when i turned on. only the the led that look moon light..how do i fix the problem somebody know how or anybody encountered the same problem?

Hi malbasmunchy,

If you see power lights but nothing appears on the screen, it could be a "POST" (Power-on Self Test) problem or simply LCD problem.

Here are some steps that you can try.

1. Remove the battery and the ac adapter then press the power button for at least 20 seconds to drain electric charges left from the system. (You may need to repeat this step to get it work.)

2. If above step doesn't work, try to plug in an external monitor and see if you get display from the external monitor. You may need to press the Fn + F4 or F5, depends on the key designed on the keyboard to toggle between displays.

3. If you get display from the external monitor, I'm sure your having problem with the LCD components. In this case, check and replace faulty LCD backlight, LCD cable or LCD inverter. The LCD inverter is often a culprit.

4. Try to reinsert the memory module/s (RAM) of the unit, try using one RAM at a time to see if it works. A faulty RAM will cause the laptop not to POST.

5. If reinserting the RAM doesn't help, most likely your motherboard needs to be replaced.

Hope this helps.

My msi u100 starts up but then the battery light goes red and shuts down how can i fix it

HI Cws666, try to charge your computer for a full 3 - 5 hours without interruptingit, than try again.
If that doesn't work, try buying a new battery.
If that doesn't work send it to computer's brand labs.

How to connect msi wind to a video projector?!?

You can switch to anexternal monitor or data projector by two methods. 1. Connect the externalmonitor to the laptop's video port, power up the external monitor first and thelaptop. The video information will automatically switch to the externalmonitor. 2. If you power up thelaptop first then you can switch the video output to the external monitor bypressing the Fn key and one of the Function keys, depending upon your make andmodel laptop. You can also toggle between the external monitor or both LCDscreen plus the external monitor or back to LCD screen only by pressing the Fnkey plus one of the function key. Here is a list of keycombinations for some of the laptops :- IBM ThinkPad = Fn + F7 HP and Compaq = Fn + F4 Toshiba = Fn + F5 Dell = Fn + F8

MSI U100 :S

I believe holding down the Fn button (on the bottom left of the keyboard) and F6 turns the webcam off and on. If it is off, it won't be seen by windows at all. Just hit Fn and F6 at the same time and you should be all set. The F6 key even has a small picture of what should be a webcam.

Good luck!

There are little blue numbers on my keyboard and i'm wondering how you turn off when you hit fn?

The 'FN' key changes a "grid" of the keyboard alphabetic keys
to a numeric keypad "grid", when you hold 'FN' down and press the 'NUMERIC LOCK' (or 'NUM LOCK') key, and then release the 'FN' key.

We are having problems with the webcam on our msi wind mini laptop. it seems to only connect to only a couple and not all

Have you tried pressing Fn and F6 at the same time? Pressing those two keys on the keyboard at the same time turns on the Webcam.

If you have done that, I would install the drivers for the webcam. Now I am assuming you are running Windows XP, and if so, visit this website:

http://www.getpcmemory.com/drivers/download-msi-wind-u100-netbook-windows-xp-drivers/

Download the Webcam drivers about one-third of the way down the screen.

If after install and restart doesn't fix it, contact me and I can help further.

Also, definitely go here and follow screens for a full update from MSI. Do this either way:

http://www.msi.com/index.php?func=downloadindex

It fixes quite a bit of issues.

Goog Luck!
