I HAVE A WEGA TV AND YESTERDAY SOMETHING WENT WRONG WITH THE TV. IT KNOW DOES NOT ALLOW ME TO CHANGE THE TV/VIDEO BUTTONS, THE VOLUME DOES NOT WORK, AND YOU CAN?T CHANGE THE CHANNELS ON THE TV. THE REMOTE CONTROL CANT ACCESS THESE BUTTON NEITHER. I BOUGHT THE TV AT SEARS AND AM TRYING TO HAVE IT REPLACED BUT I DON?T THINK THAT I WILL HAVE ANY LUCK. ANYONE WITH THESE PROBLEMS PLEASE EMAIL SO THAT I CAN FIGURE OUT MORE OR LESS A PRICE FOR THE REPAIRS.

Perhaps you can try what I do when my KV24FV300 runs through channels and will not stop. Hard to watch and remote will not work. Nothing works but on and off from set.
Sony Says: Take all batteries out of ALL remotes that you use in any way for that set, VCR, etc. ALL batteries out. Turn TV off at set. Unplug TV. Wait at least 15 minutes then replace all batteries in ALL remotes. Plug TV back in and turn TV on from set.
Maybe, just maybe it will work. If it does not work why not call Sony, they always say that cannot happen but they have a solution for it.

My Sony FD Trinitron TV did samething, started flashing, then eventually went completely black with volume. I got on internet searched found a solution, i tried it, it worked. unplug tv, remove all screws, remove back. towards bottom right theres a transmitter with a couple of knobs, we plugged tv in and moved knobs around and it worked. Also was extremally dusty, we used computer duster for a better connection. hope it helps you

I had the same problem with a Sony Trinitron KV-32FS320 32" TV. I reset the remote to factory default.
Then I reprogrammed the TV control.
After this, the volume + and - worked to control the TV.
