It sounds like the factory alarm is setting up. To make sure the factory alarm does not come on you should make sure all doors are closed before you actually hit the remote to lock the doors. Do not lock the doors with the switch on the door. Make sure you use the Python remote only and all doors closed before you press the lock button.
unlock car via remote
Push and hold F button for about 8 seconds until it says setup remote on the screen
Use the aux and remote start buttons to scroll to CLOCK and then use the F button to access menu.
The P stands for programming. It's used when setting up the alarm system, you would need the manual for the system to tell you what can be done. I have a Python 990 and I can change pretty much everything from sensor adjustments, amount of time it turns over for starting, disabling the siren and many other settings. I found out the hard way one time when I accidentally pressed it and turned the key off and it disabled the siren. I think that's how it happened, been a while since it happened. I would have to get the manual out to be exact. You can also do the programming by pressing all 4 buttons at once and hold for 2 seconds. But you still need the manual to know what your doing. Hope this helps
