The D90 won't deface your photos by scrawling a string of numbers across them. However, the date and time (and a lot more) are stored with every image in what's called the EXIF data. Just about any photo printing program will allow you to include some of this data when printing the photo. Depending on the program and printer, you can print this data on the picture, in the margins, or on the back.

Use almost any photo editing software and look at the file info for the Exif data. In Photoshop Elements, open the image file, click File at the top left, then File Info, then click the tab for Camera Data. In Windows Live Photo Gallery, open the image file, click the file icon top left, then click properties.

To activate date and time
Go to menu find date and time to set it up thats it.

There is no option on a D-90's menu for a Time and Date Stamp. Use almost any photo editing software to view the Exif data for the date.

Make sure you're using the right connector and have it plugged into the bottom port of the D90. Make sure the D90 is NOT set to one of the remote shooting modes.

SOURCE: I got the Nikon D90 . My popup flash won't go back in its place !

Sorry to hear this! Your parents should not kill you because of an accident. They may not be happy but you should not be killed. Don't force the flash down if it will not go because you may cause more harm. Your best bet is to have a pro look at it I'm sorry to say. REMEMBER - accidents happen or they would be called "purposes!"

SOURCE: nikon d90. would a nikon sb25 flashgun work fully

Not fully. It will work in non-TTL and manual modes, but it will not work in TTL mode. That is, it will work but not in fully automatic like the newer flash units.

Testimonial: "Thank you very much for the advice. I now know that I will need to buy a new flashgun more suitable for a digital camera. Thanks again."

How to activate date/time stamp on nikon d90

The date and time are stored with the picture as metadata, but the D90 won't mar your photos by scrawling a string of numbers on it. Any good photo editing program will let you print the date and time on the picture, in the margin, or on the back, depending on your printer.

Can the Nikon D90 stamp the date and time on a photograph

The camera won't deface your photos by scrawling a string of numbers across them. However the date and time (and a lot more) are stored with every picture in its EXIF metadata. Any photo viewing/editing program should be able to display this data. To print this data, please consult the documentation for whatever program you're using to print your pictures. Depending on the program and printer you may print the date on the image, in the margins, or on the back.

Hello - I've spent the day taking pictures and now that I am checking them at home I find the date stamp in the corener of each, is there a way to remove this from those pictures already taken?

Hi, Unfortunately once the photo's are taken there's no way to get rid of the date stamp on all of them at once. You can get a photo editing program and remove them that way but that does take a fair bit of work, if that's the route you want to go let me know and I can help you out with how to go about doing that based on your preferred photo editing program =)

How do I turn the date on? I want it to show on the picture.

The D40x won't deface your pictures by scrawling a string of digits across them. However, the date and time (and a lot more) are saved with each picture in what's called the EXIF data. You can see this data in just about any photo viewing/cataloging program, such as Nikon ViewNX2.
Any photo printing program should be able to print some of this data, either on the image itself, in the margins, or on the back, depending on the printer. If you're printing directly from the camera, look at the instructions in the "Printing Photographs" section of the manual (page 57 in my copy), particularly the paragraph bulleted "Time stamp."

How to date/time stamp photos?

No. with digital cameras there is no need to do so, as the date and all other details, such as what lens was used and exposure, etc. is stored in the image file as EXIF data.  If you need a date-stamp for legal purposes, I suggest you submit the original image, preferably RAW, from the camera.
