Microwave runs lights come on but it doesnt heat up any food

It shows that magnetron is not operating,check high voltage diode grounded from the high voltage capacitor by replacing the same with same specification,if problem remains then check connection leads connected with magnetron for loose or corrosion,finally check by replacing the magnetron.

I believe that is a microcomputer board failure. You will have to replace this board. Website below.

I have gotten parts from "repairclinic" on line and they worked fine. I saved $600 on the last repair of an oven. Good luck.

Hello,i have microwave KHHS179LSS-2. Display indicate code F7. I check magnetron thermostat resistance is 0 ohms. I replace 1100W inventor. Microware stil indicade code F7. Thanks for you help.

1. Unplug microwave oven or disconnect power.
2. After 40 seconds, check to see whether this solves the problem.
3. Check resistance of the magnetron thermostat.
4. Check the magnetron. See this file for details.
5. Check wiring to the 1100W inverter and control system. See "Checking Inverters"
6. Check operation of all interlock switches. See this text file. Check door, hinge and cavity front alignment. Adjust as needed.
7. If switches operate correctly, replace 1100W inverter.
8. If problem persists, replace electronic control.
9. Plug in microwave oven or reconnect power.

What is the F7 code mean?

According to the technical sheet found hidden inside the unit behind the controller and online here:

F7 Power to magnetron interrupted
1. Unplug microwave oven or disconnect power.
2. After 40 seconds, check to see whether this solves the problem. (Possible reason: Over temperature protection for the magnetron opened.)
3. Check resistance of the magnetron thermostat. It should be close to 0 ohms.
4. Check the magnetron.
5. Check wiring to the 1100W inverter and control system.
6. Check operation of all interlock switches.
7. If switches operate correctly:
- Replace 1100W inverter.
- If problem persists, replace power supply board.
8. Plug in microwave oven or reconnect power.

I am getting an F7 error message frim my KHHS179lWH-2. Any ideas?

Still operable

HI. in most cases, this will lead to a failed Heating device(magnetron tube).It would be wise to check the Magnetron cutoff fuse to be sure of its integrity. if the fuse is blown, simply replace it. if the fuse continues to show continuity, replace the magnetron.

(((The fuse is located inside the unit along side the magnetron)))

We have a whirlpool GH5184XPS-4 microwave that we are getting an F7 error on. We removed control panel and parts of the board were scorched. we resoldered in loose parts still have smae problem

3. To check the over-temperature protection for the magnetron, unplug microwave oven or disconnect power.

4. After 40 seconds, check to see whether this solves the problem.

5. If this solves the problem, check the cooling fan for proper operation or blockage.

6. Unplug microwave oven or disconnect power.

7. Check resistance of the magnetron thermostat. It should be close to 0 ohms. If necessary, replace magnetron thermostat.

8. Check that the control cable to the 1100 watt inverter is correctly connected to plug P2 on the display PCB. If necessary, adjust or reconnect.
