When selecting hot water to wash, the hot water only trickles into the tub of the washer, taking almost 20+ minutes to fill. The other temps choices work OK. Please advise.
You need to replace the hot cold inlet water valve on the back of washer, the solinard for the hot water is not opening all the way, this is a common problem on all washer,if you go to sears .com click on parts put in your model number you can get the part and it shows you where it goes, hope this helped you-mike
cross check the part you need at repair clinic .com.and you can do it yourself just look at the sears pictures and it will show you the break down, let me know now you do,please try to do it youself as sears charges $85 just to knock on your door-mike
i went to sears and got the break down,oh guess your right it is called the water mixing valve, this is what you do,remove the 2 screws on the top console one on each end, flip the console up,unplug the jack on the washer cabinet side this will give you just enough room to pull the back panel out alittle to get to the valve remove the screws from the valve on back of cabinet, now use a pair of pliers and remove the 2 hose clamps from the valve, now install the new valve in reverse and your done,i hope this helped you-mike

Thanks for your help addressing the hot/cold water inlet valve, however, when I went to the sears website as you suggested, I received two messages: "no exact or partial matches were found" and "sorry, no parts available for this product. Is this machine far beyond its time? What might be my next recourse. Whirlpool model LSR8233EQ0
I think I found the part sears calls it "Valve- water mixing" (#285805). It looks relatively easy to install. Is it something I can do myself or would I need to call an expert.
