Whirlpool Duet Dryer Tripping Breaker on Heat Cycle

My whirlpool duet dryer is tripping the breaker after running for a few minutes. It doesn't trip the breaker when on the air-only cycle. I just moved, so I am not sure whether to call an appliance repairman or an electrician. We dried a couple of loads the first day we moved in without any problem. Then, I rearranged the washer and dryer and forgot to put the washer drain hose down the drain, so some water got behind the washer and dryer. I'm not sure if this caused the problem or if it's something else.

SOURCE: Whirlpool Duet Dryer - Working but no heat

MAKE SURE YOUR VENT ISNT CLOGGED AND YOU HAVE 220 VOLTS AT THE DRYER IF ALL THIS CHECKS OUT GO TO ELEMENT WHICH IS BEHIND THE LOWER PANEL IN THE FRONT.REMOVE THE PANEL WITH THREE SCREWS ON THE BOTTOM AND TAP DOWN AND OUT AT THE SAME TIME. USE A VOLT OHM METER AND CHECK OHMS ACROSS THE TERMINALS OF THE HEATER IT SHOULD HAVE A OHM READING IF NOT CHANGE HEATER AND OPERATING THERMOSTAT GOOD LUCK

SOURCE: Whirlpool Duet Sport Dryer PF code

dmarshall05 again:
Two technicians have been out (new guy & experienced guy). First tech didn't take lower panel off, but 2nd tech did and found that drying vent tube (4" tubing) had disconnected. I replaced the rigid vent that came with it to vent to the left side instead of the back. That was 6/3 and today is 6/6 and it hasn't happened since. It was happening every load where it would run 3 minutes and shut off, then cool off for 5 minutes, run for 3 ....
Check you vent tube. I'll post again if this turns out not to be the solution.

Whirlpool dryer, tripping breaker. Dryer spins but no heat.

If it's tripping your home breaker. You most likely have a bad element. It could also be a loose wire but I would not thing so. You can remove the element and check it. You will most likely find the element is broken and touches the plate when it starts running, shorting the dryer and tripping the breaker. Good luck!

The heating element is shorted. This is an electric dryer, right? replace the heating element. Make damn sure it's un-plugged when you work on it!
