Audio driver for compaq c797vu

I purchased a c797vu with dos.then i installed xp2 in it but i dnt hv any of drivers of ds will u plz help me

    i tried to install the above file, but it is saying it couldn't find the media file for it and got terminated.........kindly please help!!!!

    I purchase "Compaq Presario 700 C797VU" with Free DOS installed. I do not have Win XP drivers for this Notebook.

I have compaq c797vu model when i install windows xp2 sound come from both headphone and laptop
Isn't that a good thing? Sound should come from both. But normally when you plug the headphone in the laptop sound is muted.

Try downloading and reinstalling your Audio Driver.

Get onlineand got to www.google.com In the google search box type: "CompaqSupport" or "HP Support" (without the quotes and put your manufacturer name before Support). Look for downloads and drivers. Enter your model number and operatingsystem when requested. Download and install the Audio drivers.

Problem with compaq presario c797vu audiobus
To install audio / modem drivers, first download and install Microsoft Universal Audio Architecture (UAA) Bus Driver for High Definition Audio (sp32646):

Conexant CX20549-12 Audio Driver for Microsoft Windows XP (sp36090.exe) (UAA Driver needed)

ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp36001-36500/sp36090.exe

This will create a swsetup folder in C drive ("C:\sp36090")

Installing this driver may result in an error. But continue with the following steps to get the audio driver installed correctly.

1. Click on Start and select Run. Now type devmgmt.msc and press enter.

2. Right click on "Audio device on High Definition Audio Bus" and click Update driver.

3. Select "Install from a list or specific location"

4. Click Next. Then select "Don't search, I will choose the driver to install"

5. Click Next and then select "Sound, video and game controller" from the list.

6. Click Next and then click Have Disk.

7. Click Browse C:\sp36090 folder and select the .inf file (CpV30D5a) and click open and Continue with the onscreen instructions.

Conexant CX20548 Modem Driver for Microsoft Windows XP (sp36089.exe) (UAA Driver needed)

Pick your OS, locate the Wireless Driver and DL.

When the DL window shows, hit OPEN and it will install for you. You can also SAVE a copy to HDD if you like.

Reboot and try wireless again ;-)
